This steering wheel cover works on a 1965 Chevrolet Impala
Well, I finally got this item put on my 1965 Impala SS. My car has a white interior, and in case anyone wondered, I could not find this cover in white. But, the beige color turned out to be quite complementary to the white interior. I like the look. The steering wheel for this car is about 15 and 1/2 inches across, the way these covers are measured. The box for this cover says 14.5-15.5," so I expected it to fit, but I knew I'd have to wrestle with it some. Definitely make sure the cover is at least room temperature before you put it on, maybe a little warmer (use a hair dryer, some suggest). I suggest that to put it on, sit in the driver seat with the steering wheel between your knees. Instead of starting from the top, start to stretch the cover over the wheel from the bottom. Once you've got the cover over the bottom part of the wheel, press the inside of your knees against the cover to hold it on the wheel, then slowly work the cover over the top of the wheel. At no time during my installation did I get the feeling I was going to tear the cover, but you never know. Once the cover is on the wheel, just follow the instructions. Be patient and work slowly. Godspeed!

Have not kept up with new steering wheels
In 1970, these were my favorite steering wheel cover, and in some respects still are. However, if you go back and look at the thickness of a steering wheel in the 70's, they were not very thick. Steering wheels even in the 90's were much thicker than the 70's.The problem with this cover is is the same size (width wise) as it was. It has not been made wider to go all the way around the newer wheels. There is about a half inch gap in the middle....right where your fingertips rest. Doesn't feel right.I put it on to protect my wheel from the sun, and it has accomplished that. I just wish they would make them wider for the newer wheels.

Steering wheel cover review
The cover is easily torn while installing with the durable lanyard. OK as under cushion for overwrap with another handlebar covering but almost useless as a single steeringwheel cover and difficult to stretch enough to get on the steering wheel of a RAM 1 ton.
