Orlimar Golf Intercept Single Length Iron Set

I have been wanting to try the single length concept for a while, came across this set for $165 so decided to pull the trigger. Went and hit about 140 balls today, out of those i hit about 6 poor shots, meaning poor contact, i.e. thin or fat, with my normal clubs that would have honestly been closer to 30 or 40, this is why i was so interested in this concept, us amateurs lack the ability to strike the ball consistently, which totally kills our game. As far as the clubs go, it feels like a pretty decent head, game improvement type but nothing too big and gawky, the shafts are definitely on the weaker side, i got the stiff and to me they feel more like a regular in other shafts I've used. Accuracy was good enough but i can definitely see where i would benefit from a better suited shaft. Yardage was hard for me to judge compared to my other clubs due to very high wind, the trajectory was much higher than my normal clubs though. Like most reviews i agree the grips could be better, they feel good holding club but they don't offer much along the line of impact relief. Unlike some reviews and pros on YouTube reviewing single length clubs, i felt absolutely no discomfort or weird feeling standing over any of these irons, it was quite nice to find my groove and just go with it, jumping from 5 iron to gap wedge and so forth. I actually felt like they helped my pitching and chipping a great deal due to not bending over as much and losing my posture during stroke, plus the sole is a little wider than your typical wedge so it helps with the digging. Being a game improvement iron the workability is somewhat limited, however, if you are looking to improve your ball striking and lower your score you probably shouldn't be worried about working the ball anyway, or look for a forged set. This set unfortunately is only available with 5iron through gap wedge, so, knowing what i know now, i will be saving up for a new set, probably cobra, because they offer 4iron through lob wedge, and better shafts.
