PortaPow USB Power Blocker - Stops Charging, Allows Data (Single Pack)

I use this on my JetKVM device to make sure power is taken from the USB mains adapter and not the USB socket on the motherboard. Quite a niche use case, but works perfectly!!

There’s no hype with this, it is exactly what it says it is - and they’ve literally made it transparent to prove it. The price perfectly matches the product spec. Didn’t solve my particular problem but that’s an issue with my equipment. Well done for providing an honest, well-priced product that solves a need without having to resort to high-priced, obfuscated snake-oil ! (Or taping over USB pins 🙂) Top marks 👍🏼

My USB dongle was kept turning on on my EV car; Which I found kept trouble shooting the 12v battery causing it to drain a lot and potentially causing ICCU problems. Plugged this and got power sourced from the power plug and all sorted!

You plug it on the usb cable and cuts power AND data ! Its like you completely disconnect your cable. Do not buy it except if work in special condition that i don't know. On my case i needed it to tether my android internet connection using usb, but to cut power so to not charge while tether. However if you plug this, then you have no tether (no data at all because the other device not recognize the android as plugged in but says no any device is connected) and of course no power.

Does a great job isolating power across the USB cable between my OctoPI and 3D printer

I bought this to eliminate interference noise , which it did , but while it should pass data , it didn’t pass midi data so was of no use for me sadly, ymmv.

Well made does the job as described

Bought as a belt-and-braces protection for a 3D printer I am using with a Pi and Octoprint. I don't think I strictly need it, in fact, but it is nice to know this specific problem can't occur. Well-made, does its job, and it's a lot easier than modifying a cable.

Works as advertised. Blocks the power. I use it with an Android Auto external device because the data+power USB port in my car remains active for an extended period after turning off the car. So I added a splice to draw power from another port (that is off when the car is off) and then only allow data in the primary port. Works perfectly.

Fait parti d'un petit montage dans la voiture pour alimenter le boitier Android Auto sans fil. Le boitier est bien alimenté uniquement quand le moteur tourne. (la connexion se rétablissait avec le téléphone quand je sortait pour aller dans le jardin ou que je bricolais dans le garage). Problème résolu, ça fonctionne depuis 15 jours.

Kör Octopi / Octoprint med min Raspberry Pi till min 3D printer. Denna blockerar strömöverföring via USB vilket var exakt det jag var ute efter. Produkten skulle kunna vara ännu mindre i storlek, om man får önska något.
