Such a great book
I can't wait to start using this with my students. It's very easy to understand and fun for kids to look at too. Books like this make learning a joy for kids and make teaching so much easier. Great starting point for building exercises with each word and building a child's vocabulary.

My 5th Graders Love It!
I use this book in my 5th grade classroom, and they love it! The words are new and fun for them - we love reading the little anecdotes for the words and trying to use the words by applying them to our own lives. We especially love the themed words - for example, all the "-phile" words for Valentine's Day and all the words that mean "nothing." It's a quick and fun way to learn new vocabulary at the start of the day!

Nice way to interest kids in learning
Back in my day (the 90s), we didn't just have knowledge at our fingertips like the kids of the current generation. We got our knowledge from physical copies of encyclopedias and dictionaries, which we practically read like novels. My daughter is not into dictionaries and encyclopedias, and she does not use her smartphone to look up things she doesn't know unless I remind her to (which I have done on an almost daily basis lately, whenever she has a question that could easily be found using the electronic mini tablet usually located in front of her face). I got her this book to challenge her a bit more.It could work for a wide range of kids, although the artwork looks to be on the younger side. The words are perfect for her age (10), not too simple or hard. My daughter has been tasked with reading a couple of words a day and using them in sentences until they stick. I'm pretty sure that the presentation of the book is part of the reason that she has stuck with it.Recommended.

Word of the Day is part of every dinner conversation with the Kids!
I purchased this book for my grandchildren, ages 7 and 9. The words are ideal for kids that age to learn, and to grow their vocabularies. "Word of the day" has become part of each dinner conversation with their parents each night at the kitchen table. The kids choose the word and and an educational, and enjoyable, discussion is what's on the menu before dinner is served.

Fun Daily Routine
Got this book because I try to teach my 6 year old a new word every day and started running out of them. She absolutely loves this book and is always asking what’s the word of the day! Gives you a new word everyday and some history behind. Love the routine it provides in our family. I’ve even learned some fun new words myself!

Great resource
This book is set up really well. The illustrations are really beautiful. I like how each word has a definition and then a short blurb relating it to real life. I also really like how each month has a story at the end using some of the words from the month. My kids enjoyed looking at the illustrations, but I would say that the words are mostly appropriate for older kids (I was looking for a resource for first graders). My 12 year old liked reading the definition Ms and practicing pronunciations of the most difficult words. Overall I really enjoyed this book.
