As described
This is exactly what you need to make large hamburger buns. Tried it out and it worked great.

I like it!
It's a great hamburger bun mold that holds it shape. You do need to place it on a half sheet pan when baking though. It's just too flimsey handling it especially with dough in each mold. The size of the mold is just a little bit too big, in my opinion, for a hamburger. By the time the dough rises in the mold, you have a lot of bread for your hamburger bun. You do NOT need oil or cooking spray on this mold; I don't! This makes for easier clean up especially if hand washing. All you really need to do is rinse it with hot, hot water after each use since you do not need to use cooking spray. I have not tested it in the dishwasher but they say it is dishwasher safe. For storing it, you can roll it up and tuck it in a drawer or cabinet. It will spring back to its' original shape the next time you use it.

Great Buns - Temporary Horrible Off Gassing
This mold makes excellent bun for lumberjack sized burgers. I bought 2 so I can make 1 dozen in a batch. I used 100 grams of dough per bun, but I suppose you could use less for smaller buns. It is difficult to clean off the egg wash, but "dough only" buns are super easy to clean with a simple rinse. I used the potato bun recipe from King Arthur - 1st rise 1 hour - 2nd rise in the molds for 90 mins - see pic. Initially they had a horrible chemical off gassing smell. So I set them outside in the sun for 2 days and the problem was solved with no damage to the molds, so I'm cool with that.

SUPER COOL ADDITION TO MY BAKING STUFF
I LOVE this for making hamburger buns as well as Hawaiian Sweet Egg Rolls. Nothing sticks to this. It washes up so well just in soapy water. I also put it in the dishwasher and it works wonderful too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

So as the headline says, I have issues with gluten, and therefore, and with a soy and dairy allergy finding bread I can eat has been like finding a needle in a haystack. I found a recipe to make vegan gluten free bread, but I could never make hamburger rolls, until I saw this mat. I thought, yay... I found what I needed. I had to give this mat a 3 because, while the shape gave me what I needed, I could NOT get the dough out without some difficulty and ripping and cleaning was a living nightmare. Now it could be because I made gluten free vegan bread, in which case might explain the sticking after baking, but since I don't have a choice I only used the mat once and was pleased with the shape. Not so pleased with the clean up. if you aren't gluten free, I would suggest finding a review from soneone who gets to use real bread dough to see if the sticking after baking was an issue for them. If you are like me and can't do gluten, but can do dairy, that might yield different results as well.

Happy to finally have evenly shaped buns!
I have an easy and delicious recipe for hamburger buns so I've been making them rather than buying at the store. Alas, no matter how carefully I shape the dough before baking, the buns don't always come out round and even. It doesn't really matter as everything ends up in the stomach anyway, but it sure would be nice to wow guests with lovely homemade buns for cookouts. This baking mold fills the bill. A few things to consider: 1. The mold has to rest on a baking sheet in the oven since it's malleable. I'm surprised some buyers gave this item one-star because of the flimsy material. But it is a mold, not a baking tray. So set it on a sturdy surface, put the dough balls in the cups, then bake in the oven. 2. I greased each cup with butter so my buns popped up easily after baking. 3. It's dishwasher safe, but I washed it by hand. There were a few bits of bread stuck on tje sides. I simply used the shower head of my kitchen faucet to get rid of the stuck bits then cleaned with a mild soapy water.
