How do you remove the sliding portion of the lid for cleaning? I read in some other reviews that this is possible.

I didn't know you could remove the lid until you asked and I looked closer. Look on the underside of the lid and see the two plastic slider "legs" that keep the lid on. Pinch them towards the middle of the lid and that allows the slider to release. When done cleaning just push to pop it back on.

Will this work with the maars skinny 20oz tumbler?

No, it does not fit skinny tumbler. It's for 20oz Yeti shape ones.

Will these fit a Calcutta 20 oz tumbler?
