Great addition to any retro gaming setup
The SNES Retro Receiver does one thing and it does it well. I've been playing all my old SNES games with my SF30 Pro and having a grand old time. No trouble pairing, and no noticeable latency. Works great with my Dual Shock 4 as well. Makes me wish I could plug a Retro Receiver into my PS2 - think about it, 8Bitdo!Recent firmware versions seem to have improved Bluetooth connectivity. Previously I had to be extremely careful about where I was holding my controller, and random moments of stuck input just ruined my chances of playing 2D platformers with any precision. Now, I would confidently call this platformer-ready. I just can't hold my controller too close to my PC while paired with the 8bitdo dongle, that still gives me trouble every time. It's a compromise I can live with though. If you have one of these and you haven't updated the firmware on it lately, or ever, get to 8bitdo.com and download the latest version.

If you play Super Nintendo...GET THIS NOW!
This product is absolutely amazing.Benefits: WIRELESS (!!!!!) Super Nintendo PlayMy setup with this was: SNES mini (SNS 101), 8bitdo SNES bluetooth adapter, Wiimote with Wii Classic Controller.I recently played Battletoads in Battlemanics on my Super NES. For those not familiar, this is a game that is HEAVILY reliant on reaction and twitch movements. I didn't experience any noticeable lag playing on an HDTV using this setup wirelessly and was able to fully enjoy a gaming experience equivalent to that of a wired controller.Of note: I hooked it to my SNES and began playing with this right out of the box. I didn't need to go online to update the firmware, etc.I have not yet tried to hook up two of these for two-player games. I have read that sometimes the connection between players 1 & 2 can get mixed, but I haven't experienced this first hand. This was the first third-party controller peripheral I've ever purchased for my Super Nintendo, and I have to say I am highly impressed. I would highly recommend this product and will be purchasing other 8bitdo products with confidence.

Tested with Retron 2 HD and SNES, both work great.
I actually used this with a Gbros adapter and a SNES Classic controller to have a pseudo-wireless SNES controller. Worked great on both official and clone hardware, so yeah, a bit expensive for my taste but it definitely gets the job done. I've also had experience using this with a SN30 Pro controller. Works good for that too!

Perfect for SNES
Absolutely love this device! I can now play my Super Nintendo with my 8bitdo SN30 controller and no longer have to deal with my children stepping on my cords for fun. No cords, no clutter, peace of mind!

No hassle, no lag. (Usually)
This product is super easy to use. I was playing SNES games wirelessly using controllers I already own within just a few minutes of opening the package. Plug the Retro Receiver into the controller port, press a button on the device, then put your controller into pairing mode. It's that easy.I tested the following controllers.Wii Remote, no issues.Wii Remote with Classic Controller, no issues.Wii remote with PDP Fight pad, no issues.Wii U Pro controller, I had some minor input issues with the analog sticks but I don't use them for retro games anyway.PS4 DS4 Controller, no issues.PS3 DS3 Controller, a bit of a hassle to set up. (The DS3 and the Retro Receiver have to be paired using a PC first) but it works. The Retro Receiver can be used to easily connect the same controllers to a PC with the supplied USB cable. It works great for that purpose. I also plugged the Retro Receiver into my Samsung Galaxy S7 using a USB-TO-GO adapter and discovered it works pretty well for Android games. Every system I tried worked well and there was no detectable input lag. I am very pleased with this quality product.Update: It has been 8 months and my Retro Receiver has a crack from normal use. I use it with my Retron 5 which has a tighter controller port than a SNES but I figured I should update the review. Otherwise, it seems to function normally. I'm reducing from 5 stars to 4 but it is still worth the price. Also, this works with my Switch controllers after a firmware update. It works very well with them most of the time. Once it caused my Switch Pro Controller to malfunction where every button press gave an incorrect input. Even when i paired the controller with the Switch again the problem persisted. Using the "Find Controllers" option on the Switch and selecting the Pro Controller fixed it for me. That was a one time issue but worth mentioning.

Perfect adapter if you have a SNES and a 8bitdo controller!
I recently repaired, deep cleaned and bleached my old SNES and I already owned a SN30 Pro wireless controller so I searched to see if an adapter to connect them exists and here it was! I absolutely love it. It is super easy to pair up and there is 0 lag. I have tested it with fighting games which require fast response and the connection feels exactly the same as the wired controller. I recommend if you already have an original SNES and one of 8bitdo wireless controller to get it. You will not be disappointed!
