Lukewarm
I bought this because I wanted to move to A3 printing and scanning after my HP A4 printer broke down. (As it happens, I haven't yet done either in A3, though I've realised that scanning the standard A4 on an A3 scanner creates some problems of correct alignment, maybe I need to tape a sheet of A3 on the scanner glass with an A4-sized hole cut in the right place.) Installation was a bit of a nightmare, the instructions are obscure especially if you just want to wire it in to one computer rather than have wireless connection and all that blah blah. Having charged more than a couple of hundred pounds, shouldn't the instructions be properly written? The paper cartridge on this A3 printer does not accept A3 paper unless the tray is left open to the elements (dust) so only infrequent use of A3 is liable to cause operability problems due to the dust layer which will have settled on that top sheet of paper, the alternative is to keep the tray shut (A4 only) and store the A3 paper somewhere else in the room (but where?) and be grateful for the reduced footprint of the printer. With my HP printer, I had (after some effort) managed to find a way to refill the cartridges by alternating between an A set and a B set so the machine believed I had swapped to a different cartridge as indeed I had though it was a refilled used one. WIth this Epson it seems harder to find a way to refill, but maybe I'm just further down the learning curve. I believe (not totally sure, TBC) you can buy refillable cartridges for this machine on Ebay but they are very expensive and if they do work they themselves have a fixed page limit I believe, again imposed by Epson software. The interactive screen is plasticky and small and not a patch on the high quality one on my A4 size HP, admittedly the HP was a professional one supplied by my then employer with less cost constraint. OVERALL, I'm left feeling that Epson's focus has been on cutting corners while stitching up the user on ink costs, all money driven for Epson's benefit, while not paying a lot of attention to the user experience. Maybe the user is expected to just be grateful that they can buy an A3 machine for this price which I don't think would have been possible 5-10 years ago. My title "lukewarm" sums it up. Would I buy it again? Possibly, if I were forced to because it turned out to be still the least bad option, but I wish I could revisit the decision knowing what I now know about this machine, because I'd be looking to see whether there was something else A3 that offered a better proportion of Pros to Cons.

Yes!
The scan quality is not as good as I expected, otherwise, it's good.

Great Printer
The printer was delivered next day, by a courier who handled it well. The set up was simple and took less than 20 minutes. My laptop connected to the printer via wireless connection with no issues. The purchase includes a full set of ink, which ensured we could start using it immediately. The printing speed is fast and each paper tray can hold either A4 or A3 paper. The interface is simple to use, and the inks are easy to change out.The scan functions through the flat bed and great. The feeding method sometimes pulls more than one piece of paper through at a time, however the paper sent through is used and crumpled so could affect the printer's performance. For the price in comparison to the same standard on the market, I'd highly recommend this printer.

Great printer, but on the large size
I researched a number of printers before choosing this one, but am pleased with my purchase. It's big & heavy, so be sure you have a suitable location for it. My experience so far has been good. It is well packaged, but easy to remove from the box with the container bag. Setup was straightforward, it takes you through step by step. It is a complex device with many features, but you can get printing without knowing too much detail. It's not clear, but A3 paper goes in the botton tray which extends & on which the cover fits. A4 paper ( or other sizes) goes in the tray above. It prints quickly, even two sided copies. Some of the features need time to get the hang of, but scanning is a breeze once the scan feature is set up on the connected PC. The manual runs to 990 pages, but the online version allows search by topic which speeds thing up. I subscribed to the Ready Print ink service which works well & seems good value for money. I wanted the ability to scan & print A3 size. Don't buy this model unless that is your requirement - there are similar A4 only models you can choose. Overall verdict: a complex beast but a great machine.

Value for money when you purchase it during promotion
Compared to my previous WF-7720, the printer WF-7830 itself is cheap but the ink is dear. Also it's loud enough when it's vomiting prints.
