It's dark gray. Not that pretty of a box but the bow is cloth and cute. In fact that's how it opens: by pulling the bow! It's about 4 1/4 inches on each side. Has some straw to protect the gift. No need to wrap it, just tie the bow back. It's a strong box. Five bucks, box, straw, bow, no wrap, voila. I bought it for a man's gift.
