Wicked little machine
Installation was fairly simple, the programme (candle) that comes on the USB stick supplied is user friendly, mine didn't come with endstops, doesn't really need them you can manually select the axis zero point, overall a fantastic little machine I've been using it for a while cutting wood, slate and metal for my etsy shop. Just don't make the machine do work that its just not designed to do like milling solid metal and it should perform fine. The supplied bits are okay but I upgraded to hardened steel bits.I'm glad I purchased this, it does the job (providing that job Is small)I added padded spongey feet and that seems to have minimised alot of vibration, without it.....let's say you might wanna cover your earsI use easel for my designs it's the easiest one to use imo, you can select cutting depths, has a range of clip art to use and save it as gcode, open the gcode in the candle software and you are good to go,(IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE YOU SET YOUR AXIS DEPTHS AND POINTS CORRETCTLY OR YOU WILL WASTE MATERIAL, if its yoir first time with the machine, mistakes are unavoidable but you will learn how to overcome them fairly quickly theough trial and error, dont panic)word to the wise is never leave your machine unattended, some materials can vibrate loose which leads to disaster I learned the hard way.I'd recommend this little machine

Weak
The kit is slow to assemble. But even once completed, the spindle head is incredibly weak so much so it would not engrave into soft acrylic or even basswood!

Surprisingly good for the money
The media could not be loaded. This is ever so easy to put together. It can be assembled in less than an hour.Bit once assembled, I would suggest watching some online videos on how to check the level of a 3018 cnc. It will take longer to level the bed than it takes to fully assemble the entire machine, but that time is very much worth the results.I use this for machining PCBs and I am ever so happy with the results. The video was one of my earlier attempts, and after following some video tutorials, my results are better and more consistent. The supplied GRBL (Candle) software is ever so easy to use, but I have found that the use of a multimeter to set the Z axis to zero make a huge improvement to the results. I use Fritzing to create the PCB layout and then export the files as enhanced Gerber files. I use Flatcam to convert the Gerber files to GCode for the candle programme. There is a full tutorial online for the process. Since purchase, I have created around 60 100x70mm PCBs and 5 300x200mm PCBs.As I said, this is surprising good for the money. I have only used it with PC control, I have not used the offline control unit other than for positioning of the head, so I cannot comment on how the system performs using GCode from micro SD cards.

Good beginner friendly machine
Brilliant machien to learn the basics of a cnc. Its a bit of a faff to set up as the instructions are pretty poor. But once you get there its great.Dont think i realised at the time but all CNC 3018 machiens are the same. Theres hundreds of them for sale on here under different names but theyre all the same so do yourself a favour buy the cheapest one you can find and go for it.Its obviously a very small machine and it does have limitations as a result but for small projects you cant really go wrong. Bin off the software it suggest and use a third party tool like Easel and youll be sorted.

Using a laser
Great bit of kit, getting used to the cnc milling isn't easy, I've just been using for laser engraving on plywood, had to get the upgrade to fit my laser but it's great with the correct software

Broken once again
The media could not be loaded. Well once again its broken. After the controller set alight I thought that would be it but no. Now the bed motor/screw has decided its had enough. Less than 5 months old and tried about 15-20 small projects on this its time to call it a day. Full refund requested when speaking to Amazon Technical support.😡
