Such a fun book! It has an interesting twist for children to figure out at the end. The crayons decide that they have to cancel this book. They then begin to to tell the reader the story behind the cancellation. After the lights go out, there is a red scribble that goes across the page. The cleaning crew comes to clean it up. However, being crayons their "erasing" only makes things worse. They forget to tell Frankencrayon, who is made up of all the broken crayons, that the book has been canceled. He makes his entrance into the story in time to meet the now, big multi colored scribble. He helps give the scribble a mouth and legs so it can leave the book. At the end of the story, we learn that red crayon was to be a mad scientist. He was dropped from the play. It is here where the mystery and fun for the reader begins. They must connect the dots that the red scribble came from the mad scientist. He wasn't happy that he was dropped from the book. A great story.

Another great book from Michael Hall! This is a fun and engaging story with a couple of funny twists. It also lends itself well to being an interactive read aloud with easy to focus on concept words like narrator as well as stop points for predicting and turn and talks. This used paperback copy came in decent condition for a good price.

Lovely book my 7 yr old is taken with. Unfortunately, it was not shipped with care and arrived looking as if it was folded in half in the journey.

This story was so cute. My daughter loved the scribble . What a nice story about finding purpose in everyone.

I read this to my daughters class for America Reads day, the kids loved it and they liked the pictures. It’s not a complex book reading or picture wise, that made it a little better for America Reads day!

Hilarious! We have the other crayon books and this one is a wonderful addition. I think I'm more entertained than my 8yo!

We discovered this book at the library and checked it out so often I decided it was time to purchase our own copy. It's a fun book to read because my 3 year old twins love the silly voices I create for each character and they like to "read" along.

Not very well written. No real flow. My year old likes it, but it's not very fun to read.
