A Must-Have for Any Aquarist – API Liquid Super Ick Cure!
I recently used the API Liquid Super Ick Cure for my aquarium, and I have to say, it's a lifesaver! Here's why I'm giving it a 5-star review: 1. Fast-Acting Treatment: This liquid medication is incredibly effective in treating Ich (White Spot Disease), which can be a nightmare for aquarium owners. I noticed a significant improvement in just a couple of days after starting treatment. My fish looked much better, and the white spots on their skin began to disappear. It's definitely a quick and reliable solution! 2. Works for Both Freshwater and Saltwater Fish: I love how versatile this product is. Whether you have a freshwater tank or a saltwater aquarium, this medication works for both types of fish. This is a huge plus because I have a mixed tank, and I didn’t need to worry about using separate products for different species. It’s a one-stop treatment! 3. Easy to Use: The API Liquid Super Ick Cure is very straightforward to use. The dosing instructions are clear and easy to follow, making the whole process less stressful. The liquid form makes it easy to add directly to the tank without any mess. I just followed the recommended dosage, and it worked wonders. 4. Safe for Fish: What I appreciate most is that this medication is safe for my fish when used as directed. I didn’t see any signs of distress or negative side effects in my fish, which is always a concern when treating a sick tank. They were able to continue swimming and eating while undergoing treatment. 5. Affordable and Effective: Considering how much I’ve spent on other fish medications that didn’t work, this product was a great value for the price. You get 4 fl oz in a single bottle, which lasts quite a long time, especially for smaller tanks. The results speak for themselves – effective treatment at an affordable price. 6. Keeps the Tank Safe: I was initially worried about using medication in my tank because of the potential harm to plants or beneficial bacteria, but this treatment is safe for use with plants and biological filters. It didn’t seem to affect the tank's overall health, which is a huge relief. 7. Peace of Mind for Fish Owners: As a fish owner, it’s always stressful when diseases strike, but having a reliable treatment like the API Liquid Super Ick Cure gives me peace of mind. I know I can trust this product to handle Ich outbreaks effectively and efficiently. Final Thoughts: The API Liquid Super Ick Cure is an essential product for any aquarium owner dealing with Ich. It’s effective, safe, and easy to use, with fast results. If your fish are suffering from White Spot Disease, this medication is a must-have in your aquarium care kit. 🌟 Highly recommend it! It saved my fish and my tank’s health!

Great Stuff love API
This product came in the mail very fast. It works as it should and I love API products in general. It's a great size bottle for what it's needed for. While it doesn't do anything for water quality, it helps heal fish, which is why I got it. Safety precautions are on the bottle for those who don't know about using with other critters.

Does what its supposed to!
We use API products in out tank. We thought this would help our green water problem. As I did help with most of the algae that accumulated from our live plants it did not help with the green water. This worked with our fish, frogs, goldfish, and live plants just fine. Our tank looks prettier with this product keeping the algae at bay!

Get this!!! You don’t need any thing else!!
10 out of 10! I highly recommend. If I’d started with this treatment, my tank would be cured completely by now. I started the first dose yesterday. The white spots are already gone, by morning. It’s only been one day! It’s easy to use. It’s of great value and quality. There’s no smell. I’m happy my fish are already looking healthy and none of them died.

Treating ick
Update: 1/13/2026 do another round of treatment because some of the fish still have spots and since I have a scaleless pleco I can only do half the dosage which probably will take longer to treat. I also raised the temperature to 86 degrees to see if that speeds things a long but so far no fish have died! Update: just gave second dose and all fish are still alive. They do have spots still but that’s to be expected. They all have less though and look better. Fish came down with ick after getting a new fish put in the tank, just treated it today. I’ll be back to update if any fish have died. I did have to do half of the advised treatment due to having a pleco in the tank which can be sensitive to the medication. I’m also going to raise the temperature slowly to 82degrees to see if that helps. So far the water did turn blue and some of the decorations have been dyed blue as to be expected.

Nothing short of an effing MIRACLE!!
I used this product in my downstairs 38 gallon tank but the outbreak started in my upstairs 65 gallon tank so I will start there. I'm writing this review at around 2:45 a.m. on Monday June 4th. Last Thursday at 2 a.m. I noticed that one of my two electric yellow cichlids in my upstairs 65 gallon tank was laying on his side. I proceeded to move him to a quarantine tank. Nothing else seem to be wrong with any other fish in the tank at that time. At 9 a.m. on Thursday morning the yellow cichlid I had moved to the quarantine tank was dead. Thursday evening I noted that the larger of the two yellow cichlids was covered in fuzzy white patches still no other fish appeared to be sick and I still had no idea what was going on. I moved him to a quarantine tank he died the next morning (Friday). I noticed at that time that several of my Guppies in the same tank started to show tattered fins and I knew I had a larger problem on my hands. In this same tank I have two sterbai Cory cats, two Emerald Cory cats, some cherry Barb's, some gourami, a couple silver dollar fish, and a few tetra. I spent most of Friday morning and part of the afternoon researching and scouring the internet to try and determine what was going on with my fish and what I could do to stop it. I came to the conclusion that I had an outbreak of Ich on my hands and I immediately ordered this API product to be delivered the next day (Saturday). However I felt desperate to do something in the meantime so that I wouldn't lose any more fish so I continued to research and found that using high temperatures and or salt addition to the water could be useful. So I increased the temperature of this tank from 76 to 86 degrees (gradually) I also prepared a mixture of two teaspoons of salt for every gallon of water in the tank. I didn't have aquarium salt but I did have pure pink Himalayan salt which I ground up very finely and dissolved in warm water before gradually adding the solution to the tank. And then I turn the lights off to reduce stress. I know that about 90% of the forms online indicate that you should never add salt to a tank with Cory cats. However there are some out there that have had success with using salt in tanks with certain types of Cory cats I will say that mine seem to be doing very well with the salt addition, along with everybody else in the tank. The treatment seems to be a success as everybody else in the tank is doing very well and the Guppies that were exhibiting signs of ich have since started to heal. NOW... the feedback that you really care about which is about this product. Friday evening I noticed that one of my fancy goldfish in my downstairs 38gal tank appeared to have a slight whitish film on his fins and I noted that my yellow cichlid in that same tank had one small white puffball on his fins and it was pretty clear that somehow, I still don't know how, the ich spread to my downstairs tank. But at this point there was only a very small piece on one cichlid and only a little bit on one goldfish. In this tank I have five fancy goldfish, one sterbai catfish, one yellow cichlid, and one Keyhole cichlid. Obviously goldfish being more cold water fish I knew that I couldn't use the extremely high temperature approach I did with my upstairs tank which left me in a very tough position. They're tank I usually keep at 75 degrees. I knew that my order of this API product would be here the next day (Saturday) but I still felt desperate. I raised the water temperature to 82 gradually and went to bed. The next morning all of my goldfish were covered in white film and all of their eyes were covered in a white cloudy film. By11:30am Saturday one of my goldfish had died. My Amazon order arrived at around that same day at around 2:45pm. I immediately administered the recommended dose and removed my active carbon filters and turned the lights off I kept the temperature at 82 degrees. I decided not to put this treatment in the upstairs tank since the salt water and high temps seem to be working. The recommendation was to continue the high temp therapy for 2 weeks then slowly return the tank back to normal temperature. Ok....I KID YOU NOT... at 8pm on Saturday I checked on the fish in my goldfish tank (5 hours after adding API Super Ich) and all of the goldfish had cleared up!! no white film on bodies.. no cloudy eyes and the puffball had fallen off of the yellow cichlid. 5 hours!! If I didn't see it for myself I wouldn't have believed it! It's just simply amazing. I am going to continue with the recommended application which suggests another application 48 hours from the original application and then doing a water change and resuming as normal... but I am simply in awe!

This adds a cherry on top, but the true cake is a HEATER and aquarium conditions.
Overview: I strongly advise anyone trying to fight ich to do some research on it's lifecycle before buying this product. I cannot deny that it works, but it did not work as fast as it claims (I do not think anything can) and it took me an entire bottle (and an entire bottle of Jungle Ich) to fix my problem. I should also mention that I had to buy a heater to increase the temperature to 86F which is probably played a bigger role in eradicated this parasite. My mystery snails did not tolerate the treatment very well. I followed the directions *exactly* as stated, but repeated when my fish still had ich until gone (the instruction did not say to repeat, I just did it since the produce didn't technically do what it claimed). Truly, the best way to keep ich from your tank is to keep the ammonia and nitrate/nitrites down by maintaining a good biological filter so your fish do not get sick and to increase the temperature to 86F where it cannot reproduce but your fish can tolerate for a few weeks. Pros: 1.) Makes your water inhospitable for the parasite to survive. 2.) Aids in removing ich from tank. 3.) None of my fish died while using this, which I cannot say for ANY other chemical intervention I have used. Cons: 1.) Does not kill ich in 48 hours or less like it says, I don't think anything can. 2.) Although it warns about this, it turns your water blue and stains the rubber gasket lining and other silicone things in your aquarium. It stained harder, non-rubber decor initially, but the stains have since dissipated. 3.) Absolutely not friendly for snails. I have used malachite green in my tank from other brands and they have never been affected, but this stuff seems to poison them. Final thoughts: if you are fighting ich and have never done so before... do not buy this product and expect it to fix all of your problems. I am very conscious of my water levels (e.g. ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, etc) and found that keeping them pristine keeps your fishes healthy and the best way to do this is to do the two following things: 1.) Do not overfeed (#1 cause of throwing off water balance and therefore fishes immense system) 2.) Learn how to establish and maintain a biological filter (usually with a SPONGE filter and an air pump, ~$15 on Amazon, and not one of those pieces of crud with expensive refillable cartridges you shouldn't need. This will keep water levels pristine and your fish will naturally fare against it. 3.) Increase water temperature to 86F slowly and keep it there, lower it if fish seem stressed until you find a temperature ABOVE 82F that works. 82-86F is recommended, but at 86F it cannot reproduce and should die off without the need of using this medication at all (sorry, API). 4.) Buy API's water testing kits until you learn what you are doing, and their other products when you need them. This one, however, is sorta pointless.
