Quality Supplemental Ice Pack- I love these
I had a total knee replacement, so I wanted ice packs at the ready, those bag of peas and melting ice bags wasn’t cutting it. So I purchased a polar ice machine AND two of these when I didn’t want to be strapped to the polar ice machine. I like these a lot for how solid and portable they are, like wrapping on a solid cold pant leg. I use them one straight after the other. For these to work, you gotta get two. One to use while others refreezes. Another reviewer mentioned that and it’s true. For me, having a larger athletic leg, one pad is only enough to wrap around the back and one side, but not fully (see pictures), so I ice the bottom and 1 side, then I use the second ice pack to ice the top and the other side. At one time I did put both on just to try it. See pic on that. I love the full length shape and fit to ice my entire leg. I am 5’9 and this runs from high thigh to bottom of my calve, just like the picture shows. The ice pack last about 35 minutes of solid coldness, then I use the next and refreeze. Note: be sure to keep the bags it comes with, I see the value of utilizing those freezer bags it comes with is preventing the cloth side ice pack from picking up the smells in your freezer. I learned this. I would whole heartedly recommend. I have been using daily for 1 month now. My freezers is only 1/2 full, so these refreeze at an acceptable rate, so I can ice with these about 3 to 4 time a day. If your freezer is packed to brim with food, this product needs space in freezer. So note. These come with 3 strong straps each. Two fixed, the third is movable. Ready nice. I don’t have any complaints. The pack can be used on either side, the cloth side or the non-lined side. Based on your preference, you can use the side you need. I use the non-lined side against my leg with my spandex on between so I can get all the coldness affect.

Keeps a large area cold and compressed
I was in a car crash a month ago and have been in recovery. My left knee, shin, and ankle require a cold compress. I was managing with ice packs, but I could never get the entire area at once. I took a risk and bought this. It is large enough to cover wide range of leg sizes in my opinion. I weigh 150lbs, 5'6'' and wear a size 9-10 in women's pants. My legs are pretty thick. I was happy that this not only covered the top of my leg to my ankle but also curved the sides of my leg too. There are 3 straps to secure it around your leg wherever you desire to place it. The straps are stretchy and have velcro on the ends. The velcro is large enough to feel secure. What I loved about this icepack is that you can raise it to your hip and strap it around your hips to fully secure it. I did try walking with it around my house and it does not slip down. It is slightly bulky but I expected that. It comes with a large Ziplock type bag to store the cooling leg pad in while you put it in your freezer. The instructions say that it should be in the freezer for 6 hours for the entire leg cooling pad to be effective. The inside of the leg cooling pad is felt-type fabric. Very soft and you definitely feel the cold temp through the fabric but it doesn't feel wet, or soggy (compared to ice packs). It's nice for the initial shock of the cold compress. I would say this lasts about 20 minutes (as described in the booklet). I also know I wouldn't want to go over this time limit to avoid cold burns. You know when to remove it because the inside felt-fabric does get warm because of your body temperature. The outside is every easy to clean if you want too. Just grab a towel and wipe of the condensation but I don't do that. I just throw it in the bag and put it in the freezer. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase. It has helped reduce my pain throughout the day. So far I've gotten 2 uses out of it during a 24 hour day (because of how long I need to put it in the freezer). But if you put it in the freezer while you're at work, and then come home and strap it on, it really helped to reduce my inflammation, swelling, and pain. I really don't have any complaints with this. I recommend this for those who are experiencing aches, pains, inflammation in your leg, knee, ankle, shin, or hips.

Don’t think twice, buy it!
If I could give more stars, I would! I used this for relief from nerve pain down my entire leg. I could not wrap the regular, flat large ice pack around and get it to stay put, so I purchased this one with just medium expectations. Expectations exceeded. It stays cold for hours and is very comfortable, I use it at bedtime. The straps allow it to be adjusted easily. The fabric is smooth and keeps your skin from ice burn or being uncomfortably too cold. It cleans up easily, just wipe it down.

Covers LENGTH of leg, not good for going completely around leg, VERY HEALING for inflammation
I need to do PT for a dysautonomia and I irritated my sacroiliac nerve (along the whole length of my leg) by doing it incorrectly. This definitely has sped up the healing process. It does NOT fit around the entire leg (I'm 5'4" and 125), which in my case is fine since most of the pain is at the back of the leg. But, it does cover almost all of the length of the leg (again, YMMV, as I'm only 5'4"). The people who say that if you wanted to cover the full front and back of your leg are absolutely right. It's a little inconvenient that it takes about 6 hours for it to get really cold, but I find it stays therapeutically cold for a good 45 minutes and that is enough (for me) for it to be a great help. It stings if you put it on bare legs right out of the freezer, but it's not that bad, and I WANT the healing that comes from it being so cold. I would say using it at it's coldest, it takes about 15-20 minutes before all of the stinging is gone. It's still plenty cold after that, though. As for the reviewer who said it was hard to get back into the (sturdy) plastic freezer bag, what? Really? It folds up easily and easily fits inside the bag. If you don't fold it, you won't be able to get it back in the bag, but why would you do that? Overall, I'm really pleased with it. I am very confident that it has hastened my healing and that it's going to prevent a trip to a PT's office! Oh, someone mentioned condensation on the wrap. I have not seen that at all! Imagine trying to do this with bags of frozen vegetables-it would never work!
