Great camping headlamps
Whether this is the right headlamp for you depends on what you want to use it for. If it is for campground use, or nighttime astronomy, this is the perfect item because it first turns on as RED. This EXACTLY how I prefer it. If you need it as an emergency light, or workshop light, then this might not be your first choice because of the sequence of how the lights are turned on.There are RED lights; two white LEDs to the sides (AREA); and a center focused LED (SPOT).The single button operations turns on the light and cycles through in this order: RED==>AREA+SPOT==>SPOT only but brighter==>AREA only==>OFF.If you pause for more than a second, then the cycling stops and the next press is OFF. The light does not remember your last setting. It will always start with RED.Except for the RED, at any other white LED settings, a PRESS AND HOLD of the button will change the intensity by increasing to maximum and the decreasing to minimum and will keep alternating while you hold the button. Also, I prefer that it uses replaceable AAA batteries. This comes with two lights and 6 AAA batteries. I have largely migrated to rechargeable AA and AAA batteries at home. This allows me to have a fresh set in before every use. I don’t prefer the non replaceable rechargeable type because when the battery or charging port fails, it’s useless.Summary:1. Simplicity of replaceable AAA, thus less things to fail.2. Simplicity means this is cheap. You get two lights and initial set of 6 Energizer AAA alkaline batteries.3. Great for camping and nighttime astronomy because light turns on as RED.4. Very bright white LEDs for lighting an area or focused spot light.

Energizer LED Headlamp PRO (2-Pack) – ReviewThese Energizer LED Headlamps are a great blend of practicality and performance. The vibrant purple color is a fun touch that stands out, and they’re incredibly easy to use right out of the box—batteries included is a big plus. The light is bright and reliable, perfect for everything from camping trips and evening runs to emergency situations. With their IPX4 water resistance, they hold up well in rough weather, and the adjustable strap makes them comfortable to wear for extended periods. A super helpful, hassle-free lighting solution.Star Rating: 5/5Stylish, simple, and super effective—an outdoor essential.

Bright enough, coarse tilt adjustment, a good value
The media could not be loaded. A good, basic headlamp that is easy to open, has an adjustable strap and a tilt capability. The tilt adjustment is coarse, about 22 degrees per detent, so only the first two settings are of use when walking or running, and third position for close work. I don’t know what the 90 degree and 112 degree settings would be useful for, unless you want to tell ghost stories around the campfire! The lamp does not have a regulated output, so brightness will diminish as the batteries discharge, but I would not expect regulation in such an inexpensive lamp. Not rated for rechargeable batteries and won’t function with NiMH; but I didn’t expect that either. The two pack came with 6 AAA batteries that were past the use-by date, but for the price of the batteries were “free”.If you use a headlamp every day, consider getting a lamp that can run on rechargeable batteries and has regulated output. I have such a lamp that cost 4 times as much as this 2-pack, and worth it to me. For an emergency kit in your car or go bag, these lamps are perfect adequate and a good value; and having two hands free when the unexpected happens after dark is priceless.UPDATED 2024-10-31In my initial review I said the light is not regulated, but I was wrong. Although the product makes no direct claim for regulated output, the ability to dim the light implies regulation is being used. Consequently, rather than fading over time I expect the light output will remain constant until the batteries get below the threshold where they can sustain the current required to run at full brightness. When you turn on the headlamp the first mode you get is red light, which is what you want if you are trying to preserve your night vision. The red light is not dimmable. After red are the three white light modes, each of which come on at full brightness and can then be dimmed. Below are operating instructions I found on the Energizer website.Energizer VISION HD+ HeadlightOPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:• Press 1 time for Night Vision (red). Dimming not available.• Press 2 times for Spot & Flood on high. Hold down to adjust brightness. Light will flash at highest and lowest settings. Release to set light level.• Press 3 times for Spot only. Hold down to adjust brightness. Light will flash at highest and lowest settings. Release to set light level.• Press 4 times for Flood only. Hold down to adjust brightness. Light will flash at highest and lowest settings. Release to set light level.• On any mode, press after 2 seconds to turn light off. No need to cycle through the modes.

Wish I'd gotten them sooner.
Really like these for multiple uses, good beam and wide options and bright is really bright. Wish they had better battery life, would have given 5 stars. They are comfortable, not too heavy and the tilt feature works well. Easy to turn on, off and change type of light. Decent price for 2 and are a real help as I have gotten older and needed more light to see things. Would recommend.

Solid Headlamps
Bought these to add to our emergency bag for tornado season, but have honestly pulled them out for all sorts of odd jobs around the house, and also plan to add them to our camping kit. These are sturdy, bright, and we love that they have a red light as well as dimmable white lights. The ability to angle the light is great, as you can avoid shining in people's eyes, but you can also point the light directly where you need. The straps are adjustable, and actually fit my three year old son's head pretty comfortably, as well as my husband's head. They're obviously intended for adults, but love the ability to re-size as we need.

Came in handy! Use rechargeable batteries with them!
Got these headlamps for use when we go camping. They came in handy from the very first time we took them. My bf dropped his ring in the middle of the night and he was able to find it thanks to the bright light that could be angled from his forehead!I put in rechargeable batteries, so as to not be wasteful. They seem pretty sturdy. The buttons are easy to press. The red light is nice at night to not blind anyone when you're trying to sneak back into the tent after using the restroom. lol I think they are definitely worth it!
