The Seed & Sickle Oracle Deck

Functional and unique
I just received the deck a few days ago. I don't usually write reviews but I've had such a immediate connection to her, it's delightful. The double guide book (s) dusk and dawn is a wonderful idea.I've pulled a card for the last 3 mornings and read the dawn message in the am and the dusk at ......dusk.Although the messages are only a paragraph each, the messages have resonated completely. They pair well with various tarot decks to enhance my daily practice. The font in the books is a bit small but I don't have great eyes. Cardstock is okay. A bit stiff but I'm hoping it softens up with use. But, for the price, I'm not complaining.Don't be fooled by the minimalistic designs, look a little deeper and you'll see quite a lot of symbolism.Good for intuitive work.I'd recommend to beginners and seasoned readers alike.

Gorgeous and unique
I adore this oracle deck. The cards are stunning, and you will find both your common kitchen herbs and many underrated plants/trees represented here. If plants are your way of connecting to nature and it's meanings you can't go wrong here.Having two guidebooks is so unique. It's so much more information, and at such a reasonable price (I expected this to cost much more when I saw there were two books). Before my deck came in I saw reviews that said the dusk/dawn books either said the same thing or conflicted in advice. Neither of these is true in my experience. The booklets both give you guidance on which to focus on depending on what kind of guidance you need at the time, read that and stick to one booklet until you're ready to swap! Don't go back and forth, it isn't meant for that. Essentially what I found is the same information but from a different perspective (excellent) or new mythology in each book spun to suit the theme, which is how it should be.The only problem I have with this is that the card stock is difficult to shuffle in my style, the cards like to stick to each other. I love the deck so much though that it hardly bothers me. Sometimes you just have to work a tiny bit harder, nothing wrong with that!

Unique Deck with Two Guides
I’ve been anxiously awaiting for this deck because it is unique in that it comes with two guidebooks that give you two different ways to working with and read the cards: one is Dawn for accomplishing things (like starting new projects, building relationships, or working on yourself) and the other is Dusk for looking inward (nurturing your body & mind). The cards are based off of the natural cycle of sowing and harvest and the seasons, which encourages us to be intuitive with ourselves and the world around us. We can tap into the ebb and flow of productivity and rest when it is most beneficial without harming or overdoing it.The creator who is also the author of Folk Magic and Healing AND Botanical Curses and Poisons created this deck to complement these books so there is a bounty of resources to utilize while working with this deck. Here are some more details about the deck:- Cards: 55 full color cards without boarders on glare resistant card stock.- Guidebook: includes two full color guides that are 150 pages each. Meanings for the cards as well as spreads are included.- Box: Two part box with secure magnetic closure bottom. Cards and both guides fit securely into the inside box.I’m really enjoying exploring the different aspects of this deck, especially during the winter months and look forward to seeing what developments it can bring to my practice.

lovely deck!
card stock is a little cardboard-y but im not really a snob when it comes to quality if i know i'll use the deck regardless. beautiful images, they dont have keywords but the whole point of the deck is the guidebooks anyway ! the messages are wonderful. i use the dusk guidebook more, but the dawn one is lovely and inspiring. works well with tarot spreads too! i really connect with the artwork. 10/10 ✨

It has issues that were avoidable
I love this creator, I have their Citadel deck and love it.This oracle is printed on crappy card stock that shows rough cuts and wear on the back edges very easily (right out of the box), the second copy I have had the same issue to a lesser degree.I’m an artist, I know (and love) my paper, weights, laminates and finishes. This particular artwork (which is great!) would have greatly benefited from a semi-gloss finish/laminate on these cards. I love a satin, matte or rose petal finish on many cards, but this artwork would have shone with a semi-gloss to add depth and saturation to the artwork and colors in the deck; it needed that saturation that a gloss would have offered. That’s specific to this deck and this artwork.I love Liminal11, but they really didn’t use good card stock for this deck, and people will notice it after a few shuffles, unfortunately. The artwork and creator deserve 5 stars, but the publisher choosing cheaper card stock with no semi-gloss to really show off this art, is just a missed opportunity for everyone.Redo these using The Modern Witch cardstock and gloss laminate and you’d have a winner here. I’d even be willing to pay more than $16 I paid here. The books are beautiful and I love the idea of offering two guidebooks for different work and readings.Bad card-stock and an ill-suited finish/ laminate will ruin a great deck everytime (just ask Llewelyn, they’ve made it a permanent business decision to use the worst cardstock imaginable on every deck they create. Too bad, I’d buy them all if they changed that).I hope this deck gets better, more durable, and semi-gloss laminated cards someday, it would be gorgeous.

For everything there is a time and a season
I waited a long time to get this deck, even though I have been drawn to it since I knew of its existence, and I'm glad I did. Connecting to a deck sometimes means being in the right space to fully embrace it, and to make the most of it.This deck is interesting with the two books, one to read at dawn and one at dusk. You can take it literally and do a reading at dawn or dusk, which is pretty fun, or you can take it based on the time and season of your soul/ headspace. One of the reviews on here is helpful saying they only connect to one of the books, I hope they haven't discarded the other because we all have seasons and are all connected to the ebb and flow of life. If you aren't connecting immediately, it doesn't mean you won't later, and if you are doing a past present and future reading, the timing of your future is unknown, and both could be future influence. It also could be that when reading for someone else the timing could be different then yours. Both guide books are stunning and offer solid advice. I did some midday readings and read both and found that each offered me something to think about. Art wide, there is always a bit of a shadow to the cards, also to me, so I think I most connect with dusk right now.Regarding the cardstock. Maybe it's been changed, I'm not sure, but I have no problems with it. I am not rough with shuffling ever, so perhaps it's protective. I also think the sheen and choice of printing reflects best in natural light, it's cool in that the season of the card (be it summer, winter, spring, fall) reflects the light and coloring of the actual season. It also reflects in the time of day (dawn or dusk) you should read in the guidebook. If I had purchased this deck before, I might have given up on it, because you really need to be connected and in your intuition to follow it. But I will say, if you are the type of person who connects with nature and natural decks, this is not a deck to be missed.

In Dawn: "Don't surrender your progress for the sake of being nice. Orange? Pomelo? Orangenblüten haben andere Bedeutungen als Zitrone. Aber auch hier. Alles ein Topf, alles eine Bedeutung.Kritikpunkt 4.)"In Germany it is encouraged for a bride to sew mustard seeds into the skirts of her wedding dress so that she may maintain strength and power in her new household."
