BEST fishing line I've ever used PERIOD!
Let me give a little background on what "type" of fisherman I am:I grew up in Exeter, Pa within 3/8 of a mile from the Susquehanna River. Despite not being "allowed" to cross Wyoming Ave (Pa State Rt 11, which is the "MAIN" road through town) as an 11 year old in 1982 I, along with my best friend & my younger Brother were down the river every single opportunity we had. I even crossed the river to Wintermoot Island that summer, with the water literally at my nostrils and after hammering a number of bass n quick succession I was begged to cross back, and then "tow" my Brother & best friend back across...I had to hold all 3 rods/reels & 2 tackleboxes (thankfully at that age they were quite small) as both John & Brett had to continually jump up & down in order to breath while I dragged them to the island. By the time we were 13, John & I were fishing at least 250 days per year down the river.I joined a small, friendly, private bass club when invited in 1991. I owned the top rated independent automotive repair shop in the area and one of my customers knew I was always fishing so he asked if I'd like to join.Since then I've fished in hundreds of private & open tournaments, mostly local, especially since becoming a fully disabled vet as I have severe chronic pain issues that can flatten me without warning which makes traveling long distances to fish large bodies of water not only quite a risk for me but I frequently was incapable of standing or walking after being thrown around by 3-6' waves on larger bodies of water for 8 hours. I *ALMOST EXCLUSIVELY* fish for bass. I can not sit and fish, and the only time I can use bait & wait is when the music is cranking out some Stones or Neil Young & Crazy Horse, there's a massive bonfire blazing, PLENTY of cold beverages and at least 3-5 TRUE friends, sometimes my sons & their friends etc. I can't recall the last time I even fished with anything other than a lure. It has been over a decade at the bare minimum!I still fish a lot of local tourneys plus I try to get on the water at least 2-3 other times per week as I feel as well as I am going to from mid May through early/mid October and STRUGGLE, frequently bedridden (at home or in the hospital) throughout the cool-cold weather months.I have well over 50 rods & reels with the vast majority being at least mid-level price/quality and my "main" rods/reels being high end equipment I bought on clearance sales. I've used every kind of line available and every major name brand. To me each rod/reel is an individual "tool" used for specific techniques/lures etc. Light braid is VERY VALUABLE when fishing the jagged bottom of the Susquehanna River from Tunkhannock through Wilkes-Barre. Most braid I've used that is a thin enough diameter to be suitable to use on a medium light rig has had major issues with fraying, shredding etc when jigging, cranking along with every other technique that has the lure and/or line in frequent contact with the bottom. The heavier braid has proven far more durable than lighter braid for this use, but it's really difficult to make a long distance cast when throwing a 2.75" tube jig with a 1/32 or even 1/64th ounce jighead using a baitcasting rig. Throwing ultra-light jig heads with 2.75" or even 3" tubes any kind of distance (distance equals FAR more strikes/bass!) is amongst the most effective ways to locate, get to hit & catch Smallmouth in the Susquehanna!I've been using this line for just over a month. I use an Albright knot to attach an 8-10' Fluorocarbon leader. I'm using 10lb suffix 131 braid which has a 4lb diameter with an 8lb leader.1) I have NOT ONCE had to re-tie this line because of any frays, damaged spots/abrasions, had zero wind knots despite fishing in high winds at least a half dozen times while throwing LIGHT weight lures.2) I can cast a 2.75" tube with a 1/32nd ounce custom made tube jig head with anything from a #1 through 2/0 Mustad ultra point black nickel hook. further with this rod/reel & line than I can the identical rod/reel with 6lb mono!!! The added distance is SUBSTANTIAL with 35-40 YARD casts being easily attainable despite next to no weight!3) This line is QUIET! Like, as quiet as mono! None of that ear splitting braid squawking when reeling in a bass or heavy snag.4) This line has retained its' shape, color, texture & roundness despite being the rod/reel I have been using most often, BY FAR!5) I have YET to see ANY damage done to this line...ZERO abrasions, frays....this line acts as if line twist means NOTHING. This line lays on the spool exactly as it did the night I spooled 75 yards of it on top of a lot of filler line.I honestly expected this to be identical to Fireline as it sort of looks & feels like Fireline. Fireline is a damn fine line in its own right, but can't hold a candle to Suffix 131!!!!I also admit I have NEVER been a fan of Suffix line until now. I also have a spool of light Suffix 832 which in itself is exceeding expectations thus far but the 131 casts further with less effort, is at least as sensitive as the most sensitive braided lines I've ever used in my 40 years of die-hard bass fishing.I'm not one to write too many reviews and even when I do respect a product enough to almost force me to write a review, they're almost always one or two short, concise paragraphs. I don't believe I've ever written a review this thorough, descriptive and sincere! (at least not about anything I ever bought off of Amazon...professional tools that I made my living with are a totally different story as I try to give back as much as I can to fellow professionals in my field)I know this stuff has a price tag that probably scares away MOST people....BUT, IF YOU'RE SERIOUS about the fishing you do, ESPECIALLY if you fish competitions/tournaments, this line WILL PAY FOR ITSELF IN SHORT ORDER! A couple weeks back almost EVERYONE had a ROUGH NIGHT. One of my best friends, who talked me into fishing the river tournaments with him this year because he bought a jet boat and I've been running a jet on the river since 1997 is a damn good bass fisherman...he landed 4, all under 12". I missed 4, landed over a dozen (in under 3 hours to boot!) including one that moved us into the top 10 and almost tripled our weight for the year...granted, it was only the 2nd week since Bass season opened and tourneys started up...but that bass blew all but 1 other out of 50+ people away by a substantial amount!I do highly recommend only using half of a spool on a medium -medium light sized spinning reel and also highly recommend using inexpensive "throw-away" 6-8lb mono as filler....I use a line winder that I motorized so I can easily put too much filler line on, discover I didn't fit 70-80 yards of the 131 braid, wind it back onto it's spool in 30 seconds, remove what I hope (and usually get it right the 2nd time) is the exact amount of filler line to allow for 75 yards (plus/minus 5 yards, I don't measure it that precisely) which when spooled up, is right at the maximum line level for that reel/spool. This not only ensures proper spooling when retrieving, but also makes ultra long distance casting simplistic! No effort required!By using 50% of the spool, I can either spool this on another reel (which I just did on Sunday) or what I thought was have the same amount of line left over to refill the reel I 1st spooled this on 5-6 weeks back. I haven't lost a single foot of this line yet and guarantee I've made at least 6-750 casts with this rod/reel/line already. Now I have 2 rods/reels with the identical line although they're different rods (same reels, different sizes) and I use the other one for 1/8-1/4 ounce tubes/jigs/swimbaits etc. I was able to whip out a 1/4 ounce skirted jib with a mini Zoom chunk so far into the lake on Sunday that I could see I was within 10 yards of being down to the filler line! That's at least 175 FEET! Try to match that with any other line using the same weight lure with a tiny trailer. In the 40 minutes I fished (my back refused to allow me to enjoy some excellent fishing!) I had over a dozen solid hits and landed 10 Largemouth with the lunker being just shy of 20"!!! I knew it was *BIG* the second it picked up my jig as I felt that typical Largemouth "head shake". I was fishing in 8-12' of stump & log infested water and figured if I was able to finesse that bass out of all of that structure with that line, it truly IS everything I EVER DREAMED OF having in a braided fishing line. I seriously can see myself putting this on at least a half dozen of my spinning reels as it handles at least as well as mono, except it's far superior! EASY handling, quiet, incredibly abrasion resistant, FAR stronger than the tiny diameter leads you to believe, cast easier & further than ANYTHING I've EVER used before! Nano-fil actually casts as well, but is worn out within 3-4 outings & frayed to death the instant it rubs off of any structure, rock etc.Well, I need to lie down. SERIOUSLY buy a spool of this....I've already ordered 2 more...but only because as a disabled vet being wealthy isn't a problem I have, LOL. I can't wait to spool up the 6lb 131....when I see how easily I can cast 40-50% further than my partner (whoever that may be from day to day/tourney to tourney) and have not a single negative in doing so...I wish they would have made this 40 years ago and I also wish I could afford to put this on every single rod/reel I use with the sole exception of my numerous topwater rods......this very well might be an awesome topwater line, but I have enough top quality mono, Fluorocarbon, co-polymer etc etc etc to last 5 people 25 years....yeah, THAT's an exaggeration.not a single statement I made about Suffix 131 is though!

Best
Worth the money. I’ve tried it all. This is the best. From flipping heavy cover. Frog. Drop shot. This is the only braid too buy.
