An excellent run capacitor for long term use.
Installed easily and restored quiet operation to a 3/4 HP 2 speed GE blower motor. Its form, fit, and function are identical to the original GE Genteq cap made in 1992. The original capacitor was failing slowly and measured just under 1/2 expected value. This had caused reduced running RPM, significantly increased noise, and running hot. A quality 440v cap made with a case size that fit in the doghouse shell had just 3 alternatives, but only the original GE P/N was needed. GE sold its division that made electric motors and Genteq capacitors to Regal Beloit more than a few years ago. The quality of this product appears to be as good as GE ever made. In contrast, capacitors produced in the People's Republic of China have frequently been associated with short operating life, rapid breakdown, and messy failures venting the remaining electrolyte. Where I had gotten 15 years from USA made capacitors, I got just 1-3 from PRC made caps where USA made replacements perform as expected so I now avoid PRC made capacitors completely and replace them proactively. At the time this is written there is only one other review of this product, and it claims this capacitor caused another capacitor to fail. I have no idea how another reviewer thought a run capacitor could make another (start?) capacitor fail, and I expect that's not how it happened. I suspect the reviewer confused the leads during reassembly and installed the run cap as a start cap and the start cap as a run cap. A motor starts with both caps and the start cap is disconnected by time, voltage, or current. If the caps are swapped the larger capacitance start cap is left in circuit and the smaller capacitance run cap is disconnected instead. This larger capacitance would pass more than the normal current for the winding continuously through the start cap and winding. Unfortunately start capacitors trade away long term power handling for much smaller size and lower cost than a run capacitor with the same capacitance. Starting capacitors are only designed to be operated for seconds at time. If used as a run capacitor the rapidly build up heat, the heat boils the electrolyte, the pressure from the boiling fluid opens the case relief valve, the electrolyte vents (all over), without electrolyte the capacitance is reduced to a few percent of its previous value and the current drops proportionally, the capacitor no longer build up heat. Many metal case capacitors, like this GE Genteq model, are also designed so that the case relief valve separates the wiring terminal from the internal parts completely. Plastic case start capacitors don't all incorporate that feature.

Fixed my dehumidifier
Fit perfectly in an old dehumidifier. The problem was that the dehumidifier would turn on, but it couldn’t kick on the compressor. It kept trying and trying to turn on the compressor with no luck. The fan and everything else on the dehumidifier worked fine, but I could hear that “click, pause, click, pause” of the compressor trying to start. It was a simple replacement.

Let Down in Performance
While it fit as described, it didn't perform as well as hoped, with some issues in reliability. I expected better quality given the brand and specs. It’s functional but not impressive—might not be the best choice for long-term use.
