Easy to install, and works like a charm
Well I'm saying easy to install because I could do it. I'm currently 20 years old and this is the first alarm I've ever installed. Before I installed this alarm I had a little bit of experience with wiring (I installed the amp and sub that are in my car). But this alarm is a very simple install. I put this is my 1996 Honda Civic Ex. I tried to utilize most of the features. The only feature that i did not use was the automatic trunk open because i needed to buy something else to do that. But this install took me and my buddy about a day to do. It comes with a guide that tells you what wires need to go were and we looked online to see the locations of the wires. The only problem with this alarm is that the sensor it comes with mainly just blinks, it's not very sensative, but it was a cheap alarm. The price seemed a little low but i took the risk and i'm glad I did. Works like an alarm should, goes off when it should and beeps when i unlock and lock. However, there are ways to change that. It's been in my car for a good while now and I have yet to run into any problems. Just make sure when you install it the alarm is in a location where it doesn't move too much because that would cause the siren to go off. But to sum things up. Great alarm, great price, if i buy another Honda i will definitely get this same alarm.

Best bang for the money
This system is really good, and to install is straight forward ( if you are mechanically incline ( I'm an auto tech) For those that need an extra hand visit [...] there you can find all of the wire diagram for you cars. I like the siren is not to loud yet not to passive, and also give you some option of what tones you wanted. The settings of the system also easy, is in the users manual. This system comes with the relay for the start kill mechanism in the alarm, also it has room for installing attachment components, like power doors locks ( if your car does not has them) and trunk release system. The antenna is nice as it comes with LED light in it, ( older system have to drill a hole to install the LED light) and to program the system also is done through there antenna button. Over all I like this system and for the price I got it I really can't complaint. Viper system is a really reputable company in the security system, that being said if you got one of this system I highly recommend that if you don't know what you are doing, don't try to be "the Mechanic" when you are not. Do yourself a favor and call or go to a shop that specialize in this equipment's and if you don't and something goes wrong don't blame the system.

Perfect alarm for my old car
I ordered this Viper Alarm yesterday and received it overnight. I had to remove my old DEI alarm that has probably been on the car for over 20 years due to upgrading my ignition to modern technology. Luckily for me, I was able to replace the old with this newer alarm and everything works as it should. Easy installation once I got my wire diagram for my DC2 Integra. It’s pretty universal so if you have some experience with wiring and electronics, it shouldn’t be too difficult. I’d buy this again for another car if needed.

So far so good
I purchased this alarm and decided to install it myself. I'm a fairly experienced DIY guy, but this was my first time installing an alarm. It took me about 6 hours total, including going to the store to get the proper tap in connectors. This is a doable install for anyone thinking of trying to do it him/herself. The most difficult aspect of the install is locating the wires that need to be connected to the alarm head unit, and I recommend figuring this out before you actually start the install. I was able to find the exact locations of the wires for my car doing internet searches. The keyless entry works perfectly, the parking lights flash, and the alarm goes off when I open any of the doors. My only problem was getting the built in shock sensor to work. I adjusted the sensitivity but still couldn't get the alarm to active by shaking the car. I decided to order an additional shock sensor to add to the alarm, which was another $10. If I was able to get the built in shock sensor to work, this would have gotten five stars. Overall a very good product and value. Local shops quoted me $250 for this alarm installed. I paid only $50 for the alarm and $10 for the additional sensor.

Chirp Chirp!
Easy to install into my 95 Caprice. Now my powerlocks auto locks and unlocks at the turn of the ignition, lights flash, open the trunk at a press of the aux button. Status light is bright. I did cut the horn wire so all I get is a single tone and not all 6 tones........hate the 6 tones. Great price and full featured for only $49.00. Nice sturdy remotes and awesome range. Will definitely buy more for my other cars. Btw, instructions are vague and do not explain exactly how to install. You need some previous install knowledge or take it to a professional installer. I did read some online forums to help me with the install. Took me about 3 hrs to wire up and find all the factory wires to tap into. Either solder or use high quality crimp caps or wire taps and test all your connections before putting your panels back. Otherwise, you gonna have to take apart your interior again.

Didnt work
I have worked in a professional shop installing these before but I couldn't get this one to work. Plus I have this exact one in my other vehicle. IDK what was wrong with it. Acted like it had 0 power.

All the Basics none of the BS
My use case is a bit different than the average buyer of this product. I had a previous Viper alarm, a 500PC that had served me well for nearly 20 years. Sadly, the alarm brain finally failed leaving me without an alarm for some time. I did some research and having a background in electronics I was able to find that this alarm was pin compatible right down to the primary harness connector with my existing ( and very complex ) existing harness from the preivous Viper 500PC. As such I was able to install this as almost a plug and play operation with the only real difference being the integrated valet switch/LED status light module which I had to make accommodation for. As for the alarm itself it's good value for the price and definitely a must-have if you're interested in basic alarm functions. This is especially true if you're not looking for features common today like remote-start, smartphone integration and the like. It can handle 5 zones and in my scenario I have 3 external shock sensors and 1 proximity sensor to keep curious hands out of my car's open windows on a warm day. It's a simple hookup and it does offer parking light flash, starter interrupt and voltage sensing (dome light monitor). You can integrate it with power door locks but my classic car doesn't have them. In short this is an excellent "starter" alarm with features you wouldn't expect for the price. Unlike many alarms that require deep integration with a factory harness this one like the 500PC it replaced requires very little splicing into the existing harness. In my case the entire system is more of an overlay than an integration making it easily removable without concern for damage to my factory harness. If what you're after is the basics without the extra BS this is your alarm...period.
