AT&T TR1909 Trimline w/ Caller ID & Call Waiting Black

I ordered this AT&T TR1909 Trimline w/ Caller ID & Call Waiting (Black) from Amazon Warehouse Deals for the house line receptacle in our den (yes, in addition to our cell phones, we STILL have a house line 😁).We already have a hard-wired phone in our kitchen that works if our power is out, but I wanted to have a back-up and since there's a phone line receptacle in our den, that's where I put this phone and it works great, even if the power goes out.I really like the slimline style like the phones I remember as kid in the 80s, but this one weighs half as much and has the caller ID on the top of the handset, making it very easy to see whose calling without needing to go to the kitchen phone.An overall good value for a basic hard-wired phone.

The volume etc is fine, but, this is the second one I've purchased and the caller ID doesn't work on this one either. Otherwise, it fits my needs just fine.

I love this phone. It fits perfectly on my small space table. It doesn’t take up a whole lot of room. It wasn’t very expensive but it’s not cheaply made. I will purchase this phone again when my others go bad.

Worst phone I've seen in my 74 years. Can't set up the memory cause that function doesn't work. Nor can you set up the time and date cause that function doesn't work. Can't exchange a longer curly cord from the base to the phone cause even a former AT&T cord doesn't work on this phone. The numbers in white are so faint that they're barely visible on this new phone without having touched the keypad yet. The base is so light that the whole phone lifts off the table when picking up the receiver. If the memory function worked, there's no way to enter the names of the people the phone numbers belong to. I could go on and on about how terrible this phone is, but the title of this review says it all.

I Like the phone overall. Like the ability to adjust the hearing volume in three levels--Lo, Med, High. Wish the caller id was backlit a little brighter.

the only thing I didn't like was the fact that I can't shorten the wire enough, and it's too visible, other than that , it has nice features. I use it in my kitchen.

Understanding that this is a reconditioned unit, I went ahead and ordered it anyway, assuming Amazon would make sure it was working properly. It arrived without any manual or Quick Start Guide (I managed to find them online, minus help from Amazon). Put in brand new batteries, and while the phone can make and receive calls, that's it No backlight, no features, no caller-ID, etc. Returning this one and will try one more time - maybe this is just one bad apple. If it works, the price is right; but if it doesn't, free is too much.
