Don't Laugh, It'll Only Encourage Her

Utterly superb!
Everyone loves a rags-to-riches story and this is the perfect example of the genre. A woman who has experienced poverty, debt, humiliation, who has struggled to make it as an actress when she doesn't have the stereotypical good looks, and who co-wrote the wonderful mockumentary "This Country" and had to fight really hard to avoid it being ruined by stupid production companies who only wanted another version of an existing comedy series. I think it offers hope to anyone who sees themself as a failure in life. One of the very best autobiographies I've ever read. It made me feel very emotional!

Cried with laughter
Although I'd not watched anything that Daisy May had been in and it's not my usual type of book, I absolutely loved it. So many funny anecdotes and situations, especially the incident with the Coke can, it had me laughing so much I had tears rolling down my face. The angel wings, oh how have I been there, just when you think you've "made it', for it all to come falling apart in front of everyone - superb.Even the title reminded me so much of what my mother used say about me when I thought I was being funny. One of the funniest fab books I have read, so much better than 'Joe Wicks'.

Everything I hoped
It’s hard to believe Daisey endured such strife getting to launch her career.Usually with autobiographies I am thinking “hurry up and be famous” however with this I wanted more real life Daisey stories. They are far funnier than any fiction.
