This Works!!
So we had 7 broken Edison bulbs in our patio string lights. I tried needle nose pliers and it tore the metal to shreds on one bulb plus the filament was shattered so there was nothing to latch onto. I could not get the lightbulb out of the socket, then i bought this magical little tool placed it into the socket and turned. First try it came right out super easy! I removed all others very easily. There is a hole at the top of the rubber to slide the filament through and the rubber latches onto the metal and just twist, worked perfectly. Even if the filament is broken it works.. Just buy it. It also comes with a candelabra removal tool.

It works!
Previous homeowners never changed the dead microwave bulb because the glass separated from the bulb base. Base was oxidized and was in a small space. Bought this packet and used the candelabra portion. It fit in the small space I was working within. I pressed firmly (though it didn't fit all the way into the bulb base opening); counterclockwise turned; and it loosened up so I could finish unscrewing using my hand.I assumed it was just going to squeeze into the bulb base because it looked like a silicon bulb inside the packaging. After opening, it is a firm piece so it didn't give while also being a bit soft for gripping the base.

Well worth getting.
Works well, but unscrews from the pole unless the thumbscrew is very tight - beyond finger tight.

Didn’t work
It didn’t work for me. The larger fitting simply couldn’t get enough friction to unscrew a standard bulb base as it was designed to do. Oh, well. Maybe I’ll try wrapping some electrical tape around it to increase the grip.

Nifty cool and it saves your fingers from getting cut up
A simple device that extracts the broken bulb bases out of the light fixture. I have done this before with needle nose pliers and fingers and always ended up with glass particles in my fingers. This device makes the extraction safe and easy. Nifty cool
