My First Search and Find: On the Farm (Campbell Axel Scheffler, 17)

The media could not be loaded.  My 22 month old daughter loves this book. She is farm animal obsessed at this age and so loves finding all of the different animals on the myriad of scenes illustrating a farm from morning until night. It’s been great for building her knowledge of different animals and talking about different animal sounds. At first she would point out the animals, now she can label them.The illustrations are lovely and really captivating. Scheffler does not disappoint. There’s so much going on in each scene, it’s lovely to see my daughter studying it closely. It kept her quite busy on a long haul flight. I will say that it was slightly larger than I expected - it won’t fit easily into smaller bags.Whilst my daughter has got a lot of joy out of it, she is not quite using it to her full potential yet. Many of the questions in the description at the top of each page are clearly directed to slightly older children - i.e. the ‘how many’ questions. But for me this is a bonus - there’s more enjoyment for her to grow into.

Got this book along with farm Yard animal toys for my 1 year old to learn animal noises. Its worked a treat, her favourite book and now she knows most noises and points to the animals. Really good sized book.

Birthday present for2 yr old boy

A lovely board book. The tabs make the pages easy to turn and the busy pictures take the readers through a day on the farm, from breakfast to night. Lots of opportunities for counting and expanding vocabulary.
