A New Earth: The life-changing follow up to The Power of Now. ‘My No.1 guru will always be Eckhart Tolle’ Chris Evans

Disappointment
I opened this book, hoping to find something inspiring, eye-opening, and life-changing. Instead, it appears to be filled with the same old New Age babble about self-actualization and "each being the part of the one." It's not that I disagree -- it's just that I don't think there's anything particularly new or different. The same old, same old about non-judgment, embracing all things, blah blah blah. Call me crazy, but I think I've read this about 100 times before in every issue of New Age Journal. Not only that, but it was boring. I had to force myself to keep reading. And I gave up after page 130....I have no idea why Oprah picked this, other than she must have some merchandise tie-in in mind.

A Modern Classic
A New Earth is among the most profound texts I have read with regards to spirituality. While Tolle's 'The Power of Now' is more widely proclaimed, it is my opinion that A New Earth surpasses it in terms of practical knowledge to be applied and pondered with regards to modern living. The easy to read writing-style, the breadth of topics covered and the originality of the content make this a brilliant read. I'm sure the majority of readers will 'oh yeah..so obvious a number of times while reading this text with regards to the main occurrences and behaviours in the modern society.Do I honestly feel Tolles 'New Earth' is something likely to come to widespread fruition in the near future. The short answer would be no. Nonetheless this does not take away from the many lessons of practicality which can be utilised by the average individual reader to improve their lives both on a physical and spiritual level. At the price it is sold for I consider it an extremely wise investment for those seeking further fundamental answers regarding our purpose for being, across all age groups.

You Must Read This!
I read this after 'The Power of Now' and found it extremely interesting and helpful. A very optimistic book given the state of the world at the moment. As I have thought myself the world is in OUR hands if we pick up the challenge to become more aware of who we are and inject the world with our inborn love and consciousness. To me this is a must read for anyone who wants to help the world to be a better place.

Have read lots since ove the years and this one is amazing, probably the best
I didn't read this for years after I got it because I got it the same time as Power of Now and as I was reading that I thought, oh the point is liv in the moment, why bother continuing to read... That may have been the first book on spirituality I read, and read at a time I wasn as open or ready for it. Have read lots since ove the years and this one is amazing, probably the best, I've highlighted in it, and I'll read it again. It's a go-to book. Also check out some Krishnamurti - the compendium/ greatest hits one oh what's it called...

Expand Your Consciousness
'A New Earth' has been marketed as a self-help book, which I feel denotes the impact of its importance. If you are interested in Eckhart Tolle's teachings then you may have already read it or the rather puzzling 'The Power of Now'. This is as mind-blowing a book that unfortunately I couldn't think of anything book-wise that is similar. It seems to be in a world of it's own making but it is helpful and extremely beautiful and hopeful. I recommend it with massive enthusiasm and in my opinion it's possibly the most important book since 'The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying'.
