This cable works great! A little more information on the LED color meaning would have been helpful. There is just a very brief blurb on the back of the package.Also, the cord is kind of short for some applications. Consider than when looking into this cable.

This cable did what I was hoping it would do. It connects my iPad 3rd generation with my MacBook Pro 2011 model. I use it to trigger page turns in the iPad for my music via MIDI coming from Abelton Live 9 on my Macbook Pro. Yes, there are ways to run wireless MIDI, but for some reason it is not working at this time. So this was a quick-fix solution to get this aspect of my live performance up and running.

This cable connected my iPad 2 to our Yamaha piano. No problems playing Synthasia with it. Just wish the cable was a bit longer and it would be nice to have the ability to inject power so that the ipad can be charged.

I bought this, and then immediately returned it. It functioned fine with my ipad 3 and iPhone 4S, but it is only 3 ft. long. In the product description, it says 5ft. long. Sadly, that was a deal breaker. If you only need 3 feet, then I highly recommend it. The in and out LEDs in the connector flash with Midi info sent and received is very nice.

I tried this product with several old apps in my IPAD 2, like Sample Tank, MidiXpress, MCP and NanoStudio. Neither of those recognized the MidiPlus, and I couldn't find others in the app store that worked both with IPAD2 (IOS 8.0) and MidiPlus. So it proved useless for me.Besides, The fabricant web site dose not provide any information on the product.This was a total waste of money.

I was able to sue this with a hardware synth and ipad editing software. The Roland alpha Juno synth can use the i800 app to access all the synth controls. This MIDI interface works with well

No need for despair. Simply download a $25-$50 piano app from Apple. There are several piano choices. Youtube has several reviews so let that be the guide to personal preference of the app of choice. Make certain the app requirement suits the ipad ios minimum requirement.Once the app is downloaded then simply plug in the MIDI IN 5 pin connector cable of the midiplus iLink Interface to the MIDI OUT outlet of the keyboard/controller. It does what it is designed to do and deserves a 10* rating and involves simply plugging in to the ipad and keyboard.Apart from the headphone preference, the sound from the ipad can be channeled into an amplifier or a Bluetooth speaker. The requirement for the amplifier is a 6.35mm Mono to 3.5mm Stereo Adapter and a 3.5 mm Male to Male Stereo Audio Cable all available on Amazon. Now go and experience the improved sound of that long unused old digital piano.
