Nicely made, quiet and effective
I bought two of these as I needed something to control my (now very old) Alesis SR-16 drum machine. It's more or less coincidence that these happen to be Alesis branded — they're just some of the cheapest decently reviewed pedals around. They're definitely better than the price would suggest, even though their plastic construction means that repeated jumping up and down on them wouldn't be the best thing to do. Look elsewhere for a metal version (Boss make some nice ones) if your pedal-stomping involves your entire body weight. They're also quiet — many pedals have an annoyingly loud click, but these just get the job done without shouting about it. And the polarity switch is useful, making them truly multi-purpose (within limits — you can't use them to wash the dishes or listen to the radio, for example). Recommended.

Its fragile, will break if you play standing.
It is not durable if you're going to be using it standing up.I bought this in December and it is now February and it has failed me. Twice.I love the design of it, it looks great and fits right in into my setup however it just doesn't stand up to its funciton all the way. There is too much pressure on the tiny switch inside which some of your weight rests on! Which is ridiculous im not surprised it broke, theres even a little indent on the plastic which puts even more pressure on soley this switch. Ive had to fix the switch, twice and each time its failed to the point where I had to get a wooden block to stop the top of the pedal before it hits the switch and that doesnt work and now I need a new switch for it which for how cheap it is, isnt worth it.I dont want to do this labour after only a month of having this! The design of the mechanics of the pedal is poor and it wont survive you if you want to slam on it (as you do) or rest on it which could be solved easily but it shouldn't break after a few weeks of use.

Cheap and feels it
A bit flimsy. I did expect a bit more substance and I don't think this will last long unless you are bare footed or, at most, wear slippers. A heavy shoe with a bit of pressure would crush this. In my case, this isn't going on the road and remains in my studio space (haha... delusions of grandeur... the dining room), so will probably fare better. To its credit, it was cheap.

Feels good. Seems to be well made.
I haven't had this pedal for long so can't vouch for durability or long-term stability. However, initial impressions are good. I've enjoyed using it. It feels well made (in terms of first impressions). It works well with some of my synthesizers. Having not been a big pedal user in the past, I can't really compare to others I've used. The action is quite light and requires minimal pressure. If that sounds like the type of pedal for you, then I recommend this one.

Does the job
Not a lot I can say about this except that it does the job - it's light enough to travel with (I've used it with a mini keyboard), it 'just works', it feels sturdy enough, and it's cheap. I'm sure there are comparable other products, but I bought this partly because of trust in the Alesis brand.
