largest pen/pencil diameter?

3/8" is is NOT correct - it is much smaller. I ordered this item on the basis of this answer, but the largest diameter it can accommodate is a regular pencil. It's a great product but since I wanted to use it with micro pens, it will not work for me.

is this divider type good for proportional measure for fine art drawing?

I've seen proportional dividers, and this is not one.
