Shield carpet from paint
I have used these for years. They are very thin and can easily get between carpet and trim. This allows you to pull the carpet away from the trim and paint. The curved surface pulls away from the wall farther than a flat blade does. You can then usually slide the tool along the edge to paint the next section. If you cannot slide the tool, you will have to remove it and wipe it off. Note that you will go through a lot of paper towels wiping paint off of the tool. Be careful, since the blade is thin, and you can cut your finger if you do not use caution. In a lot of cases, the tool is thin enough to fit between 1/4 round molding and hard flooring too for painting in these circumstances. I would not recommend this tool to shield a wall while painting molding since it is very flexible. Study your job to pick the right tool for your project.

Junk
It’s cheap and not even worth the cheap price. Didn’t work for the intended purpose and was soooo flimsy

A little on the flimsy side
This works mostly as it should. There were a few times it gave me trouble and needed to be stiffer to keep paint from bleeding. It was inexpensive and arrived on time. But I did end up putting them after the first project.

Don't buy this product
This product is so flimsy that it doesn't work and paint seeps under it.

Very flimsy
I was very disappointed with this. It is made from a very thin metal which creases easily. The only reason that I didn't return it was that it was so cheap it wasn't worth the effort. You get what you pay for.

Good in theory
This is a good idea. My paint is bumpy and not flat so some paint did come through.

Cheap and Flimsy
This paint guide arrived bent in two locations and was obviously unusable. No wonder, it is made of paper thin aluminum. I can’t think of any serious application for this product. Maybe some 4th graders doing finger painting??

It works
I have one of these from a different company that I can't find anymore and I wanted one a little longer. This is thinner than the one I own but it still works fine. The paint brush can push this down to lower spots along trim. And I used it to paint around a beam on a cathedral ceiling where I had to push into the wood and plaster seem. Some have complained about how thin the metal shield is, I don't know what they are expecting, it is to cover trim under the shield from the paint brush. Paint can get on the backside so carefully remove the paint guide, inspect and wipe the back side and set it for the next painting portion. Keeping a rag and a putty knife to clean up any paint along the way, it was much faster than masking tape and removal. This shield in combination with painters tape and high quality brushes (where you don't even need a shield or tape) help move the painting job along.

Flimsy
This thing is flimsy and very cheap. It was bent even before I used it. Went straight to the garbage. Waste of money.

Paint guide
It’s very flimsy, not very wide and awkward to hold when cutting in.

Flimsy and useless
it bends easily and is not useful for painting or trimming.

Don't buy
Way over priced. I was able to buy a larger professional model at a local hardware store for less. This is as flimsy as a mini blind and just over priced
