I bought this with some hesitation after reading conflicting reviews about whether the *ceramic* version was actually PTFE free. I do not want to have any products in my kitchen that have Teflon, either PFOA/C8 or PTFE. The Ceramic version is advertised as being PTFE free. However, as another reviewer pointed out, the back of the packaging does say that this is non-stick because it contains PTFE. So I reached out to T-fal and they informed me that this packaging is actually just used across all products and in this case is false. There is no PTFE in the ceramic pan. No as far as how this actually works in the kitchen... it's great! It cleans easily, the heat distribution is even, it's very non-stick, and it's attractive. I haven't had it for long enough to know if the non-stick coating will wear off or dull but so far I am incredibly satisfied, especially in comparison to the other Teflon-free ceramic non-stick products I've purchased.

UPDATE 6/26/20: After about a year of nearly daily use, some of the non-stick material has started to chip away. I have only ever used plastic and wooden utensils on the pan, and never machine washed it. It is still usable, and still non-stick, but if small chipping away concerns you, be advised that my pan lasted about a year before it started to happen. I can see it wearing away more rapidly now. Original review: I got this as a replacement for the cheap non-stick I had before that was already peeling and chipping away after just a couple months of use. To be fair, I didn't take adequate care of that pan. To address some complaints others have made in reviews: - My pan seems to distribute oil fairly uniformed (it doesn't go immediately to the edges of the pan) - It distributes heat fairly evenly... I have gas burners, so if you're using a small one it will focus heat in the middle, but generally it seems to be evenly heated. - After about three weeks of almost daily use, there has been no chipping or scratching or signs of wear. I am careful to use only silicon spatulas, wooden and plastic tools. They claim you can use metal, but I don't dare try. This is probably the best pan I've owned. I've used it for pasta sauces, eggs, bacon, fish, steaks, fried potatoes, etc. Very versatile. I have a couple stainless steel pans that have lasted many years, but of course they are not non-stick. This pan is very nice and I think a great buy considering the price. Very easy to clean (I use warm water and gentle scrubbing with a sponge and soap). I try not to use my brush, but since the surface is non-stick there usually isn't any grime that really sticks.. most of it is easily wiped away with paper towels.

My wife and I have gone through several medium and high-priced non-stick pans over the years. We found this to be quite good. In fact, after buying the first one, I bought two more (the 8", 10", and 12"). The handle is comfortable. It's rubbery so it's slip-resistant. The pan is solid without being too heavy. I appreciate the marker in the center that lets me know when it's hot enough for cooking. To cook with it I pour maybe a teaspoonful of vegetable oil in the center. I spread it around the bottom and sides with a folded paper towel. On my gas range I set the control to 3 (of a scale of 1 to 6). In a couple of minutes it's ready. I've cooked eggs, chicken tenders, fish, and meat on it. Nothing has stuck so far. I do use non-stick tools, though (I'm not going to tempt fate and use metal even though they're permitted). To clean I just use some hot water, a little detergent to clean the inside and wipe down the outside. It's a very nice pan. We've been using the first one we bought since March. It's now the end of July. It still looks like new. It's replaced a Calphalon that we spent more for and that now sticks like the devil
