I bought these to use specifically for my pan pastels. What a difference after struggling with cue tips! Even on the harder stick pastels. The application comes to a whole new level. They help base a shade and do full backgrounds. They made my art work so much easier. The best part is they are reusable! I highly recommend them!

I couldn't decide which kind of sponge I wanted so I bought this variety pack. For this reason it would be good for beginners. They have been great to blend soft pastels with. That is the only medium I've used them with. The tiny ones that go on long sticks tear after some concentrated use. Is that to be expected? Maybe so. I like the sponges that are narrow, because they can blend in tight spaces of your art work. I wash them and use them again if they are not torn using a tiny amount dish soap and water. Overall I'm pleased with them.

If you want to use PanPastels, you'll need these sponge-type tools and the instruments in which to insert and use them. Various ones help get a fine, sharp edge in your paintings. Some blend, some soften. Try them and you'll see what I mean.

I watched a video on how to use the product. It went above my expectations, product was superior.
