Mix it with cranberry juice
Why did you pick this product vs others?:So my first experience was awful. I mixed it with water so it was just a gooey texture and a fiber taste. My husband took too long to drink his so it turned out pretty thick, but the fiber worked great. Now I put it in a shot of cranberry juice and absolutely LOVE it. I look forward to drinking it. I usually have to add extra juice to get all of the powder out.

Great product! No taste/odor—my dog doesn’t even notice it!
My dog needs more fiber in her diet so I purchased this organic psyllium husk. It’s made a world of difference. I mix this into a small amount of unsweetened apple sauce or vanilla yogurt and my dog loves it. It has no taste or odor. I started adding it to my protein shakes too. I’ll definitely subscribe next purchase.

great product
great item at good price. Works as good as metamucil, but a bit harder to mix. I use a pint jar with a screw on lid. I pour juice in, add the husk, then put the cap on and shake vigorously. Mixes well that way.

Easy to mix
This package has the P65 Warning on it (California Law). It most likely contains small amounts of lead that naturally occurs during the growing process. A lot of furniture as well as homes also have this warning. This law was originally for drinking water safety and just branched out on products sold in California. I’m giving it 4 stars because they were forced to comply.PP65

Takes some getting used to
I bought Viva Naturals Organic Psyllium Husk Powder because I'm out of unsweetened, unflavored Metamucil and need some psyllium husk powder for regularity. I am an average American, not a person concerned about organic this or nature that; this purchase was made for convenience and price point. This product is NOT like Metamucil. It's far more finely milled, so it's basically like a reasonably fine powder, whereas Metamucil is more a coarse powder. It's in an obnoxious zipper bag which will not rezip due to too much powder being caught in the zipper tracks, so you have to be sure to store it away from any sources of humidity, meaning the kitchen, near bathrooms, etc. It also does not travel through a funnel very easily, so it was hard to transfer it into a better container. The way I use it is to pre-measure a cup of water, add a little flavoring, and then put a heaping teaspoon of it in the cup. I stir it very briskly for a good while and then I drink it very quickly. It takes more stirring than Metamucil and it clumps A LOT more than Metamucil. I think I would need a blender to get the clumps out, but fortunately they're fairly small. If you drink this immediately after stirring, it doesn't have time to set. However, because it is a fine powder and it does clump, I end up with micro-clumps of it left over in my mouth in the cracks between my teeth. This stuff tastes like raw wheat without the slightly sweet flavor wheat can have, which makes it fairly unpalatable to American tastes. I would not try this stuff without flavoring until I'd gotten used to the texture. It is not a joy to consume this, but it is over pretty quickly and only leaves a mild aftertaste after you wash your mouth out post-drinking it. And it does work, which is the point of taking it in the first place. However, you want to brush your teeth before bedtime if you use this stuff or you will hate life in the morning.Basically, this product is not a delight and the packaging needs some rethinking, but if your goal is to be regular, it does the job. The benefits barely outweigh the concerns.

It works, but you need to get creative
Recently, I’ve been taking opioid medication which has resulted in constipation. This stuff works! However, you have to get creative. The first night I tried mixing it with a glass of water, it turned to slime and I had to toss it. I now put a teaspoon in my morning yogurt and a teaspoon in some soup in the evening. I have started going to the bathroom regularly again. It did take a few days to work, drink lots of water with it!
