CarsonCarson LED VersaLoupe 10x LED Lighted Focusing Loupe Magnifier (LH-50)

As a dentist, I work on many aesthetic cases where it is important to analyze and create fine shading detail and contours. When I was searching for a loupe to help me with this, I really was looking for something that was compact, easy to use, durable, and reliable. I have owned a number of Carson Optical products in the past and each and every time their products have delivered for me. This particular product has such a well integrated light compared to the other products I was considering, which makes it so much more compact. I am able to throw it in my bag and bring it with me everywhere so I always have this handy tool. Really a great durable and well-designed product.

The light on the loupe makes it so much nicer to use. I had been using a loupe from the same company for ages without the light, and always had to angle it just right to let light in. The LEDs in the unit make it so much better to use

well put together magnifier but poor lights. the white light is definitely on the weak side and the uv light is a joke. led lights should be brighter than these.

Perfect for my main use case, reading nautical charts in often dimly-lit situations. Three illumination levels, very well "spaced" in intensity. If you find it challenging to read such print as the customer service phone number on the back of a credit card then this may be a great addition to your desk or night table.I'm so pleased with this magnifier that I'm ordering a few more to give as gifts to friends and family members with vintage eyeballs.

good magnification, easy to use

Uses an optional coin batter to power the led lights. The adjustable focus is helpful when viewing 3-dimentional objects (object that are not flat). I use it for snow crystals and it works well.

I use this for PID reviews at work, the way you can see the detail is just great... will recommend them for site engineers doing a lot of doc reviews.

I bought this for use with coins and my review is based on this purpose. The image seen through the magnifier is very clear and undistorted. The light is bright and it is easy to focus on both loose coins and ones inside something like a PCGS slab or Dansco album. My only problem is that the coins are so well lit from all directions that there are no shadows making it hard to discern many details whether they be 3d details of the coin or flaws. There may be a workaround like blocking off some of the lights or using a secondary light source, but as the product comes out of the box this is a problem. With that said this is probably as good as you are going to get from an economical magnifier with a built-in light as I haven't seen a competing product that addresses my only complaint.

Muy funcional

Acquistata per visionare in modo veloce negativi in 120 e 135 mm prima della stampa in camera oscura. Avevo in precedenza la versione senza led, ma questa è molto meglio. Davvero un oggetto semplice ma molto efficace. Qualità-prezzo non proprio eccezionale dato il progetto e i materiali utilizzati, ma è un prodotto che si compra poche volte e per usi molto specifici.

10 times magnification is a big question mark

This is great reading the fine print on my printed spreadsheets. As long as the text fits in a 2 x 2 inch box, you will be able to read the entire paragraph in that box. The focal length is adjustable - so you can rotate such that it gives you less eye strain. The light turns on flawlessly as soon as you touch the rotating bezel. I also like that the light is not too bright. One of the other magnifiers has too bright a light which is uncomfortable for me to look at. The 3x zoom is plenty for my purpose.
