Highly Recommended boot provides better fit than many others
Highly recommend this walking boot if you have to wear one. It was BY FAR more comfortable than some of the other boots I tried. What I like about it: -Relatively smaller height difference with most thicker-soled tennis shoes -Straps are very easy to thread through AND can easily adjust the angle of the strap for better fit across the foot, ankle, or leg -Strap across the ankle is a little narrower, so it is less uncomfortable while giving better fit/support -Pneumatic function is very easy to pump up, adjust, and deflate without putting excess pressure across your shin -Metal side supports don't put excess pressure around the lower leg resulting in decreased leg discomfort while you're protecting your foot -Less expensive than many of the other boots available online What I don't like about this boot - the liner is a bit skimpy around the foot and needs to be pulled tight in order to get the Velcro to overlap fully -This boot has a little less of a rocker bottom compared to other boots due to the smaller sole, but I felt it was worth the trade off to be more level with normal shoes -This boot (as well as pretty much any boot made to fit either right or left foot) offers no real arch support, but this can be solved by adding an over-the-counter arch support (Spenco or similar brand) into the boot. -Leg Velcro straps are a bit long and can't be trimmed due to design -Not made in the US, although the quality is excellent and it is holding up very well after a couple of weeks of continuous wear.

Get the larger size
Love the quality, fit, and price of this orthopedic boot. I wear a men’s size 9.5 and my foot (heel to toe) is 10 and 1/4 inches. According to the sellers size chart medium was the size for me. I didn’t want to gamble on the large size, thinking the inch or so of unneeded sole overhang beyond my toe would be a trip hazard if it got stuck under a throw rug, etc. I’m not saying this chart was wrong as the shoe initially fit perfectly. BUT . . . . I should have purchased the large size. Why? Either the way I wear the boot or the way it’s designed, or both, my big toe starting to hang about an inch beyond the sole of the boot. I figured out why. The boot is designed with a separate insole, which is really comfortable. However in my instance the booth side away from the hard plastic outer boot by over an inch = exactly how much my toe was now poking out. Possible reason why? The second from the top Velcro strap is not attached to any structural piece of the boot. So when I tighten this strap it centers my lower leg to the vertical metal support straps of the boot - and moves the inners sole/and my foot forward 1 inch away from the boot’s heel. No big deal. Tightening all the other straps to almost the point of discomfort seems to hold my food and the inner boot better and most of my toe is within the boot. In sum if you’re in-between the size chart’s medium and large size - get the large.

Very Good For The Price: Beware Sizing For Wide Feet!
Boot Size: L, then XL My Foot Size: 10-1/2 4E, Men, US Height/Weight: 6', 250 lb I am wearing this for a badly sprained ankle. It certainly has done the trick for keeping the foot and ankle padded, immobile and protected. SIZING ISSUE: According to the size chart, as a 10-1/2 4E, the large (L) was what I needed, and that's what I got. After wearing it all day, my foot hurt overall in the way one's feet hurt from wearing shoes or boots that are juuuuust a bit too small. I'm embarrassed to say it took me a couple days to realize it was the width. So I ordered the XL, which is what I'm wearing now. The XL is perfect for my double extra-wide Flintstone feet. The hard shell part of the boot goes a good two inches past the end of the padded part, so I just need to be a little careful to not get it hooked on something, but that was also true of the large. Overall fit, Large: the foot part of the padded liner just barely had enough room to velcro the flap in place without it being too tight. After strapping in to the hard shell, the heel was also a hare too tight. Overall fit, XLarge: there is plenty of overlap in the foot flap of the soft liner to get it however snug or loose I need it, and once the liner is on, and I'm strapped in to the hard shell, there is a world of difference. There is a lot more leeway for overall adjustment. On the large, it was so snug overall, I never messed with the inflatable part. On the XL, I have it just slightly inflated, but not even sure that's necessary. The XL is quite comfortable. Summary: Two thumbs up. I'm not a doctor of course, but for sizing it seems better to err on the side of a little big than small, because it won't be long before the whole foot is sore, which stinks on top of a sprained ankle. Also, considering the price compared to getting one from an orthopedist, I'm very, very happy with it.

Lifesaver!!
My husband bought this for me when I had a bad ankle sprain and my ankle was severely swollen. I think he got a medium for me and I wear a 8 - 8 1/2 in vans normally. It wasn’t to big or small and fit perfectly around the toe area my toes stuck out a little from the end of the black fold over and it hit about mid calf area. The compression was a nice bonus to keep my swelling from getting worse when I did need to move around more with my kids or to clean something up. The boot wasn’t to heavy but of course wearing it for 10 hours it can start to weigh on you for sure. I did notice that the fabric near the pump was starting to get worn out but I think that could be from the wear and tear I put on it. Wore the boot for about 6 weeks and I know I’m going to get many more uses out of it since I’m getting older and more accident prone. Overall I recommend it and would buy again.

First time I use this boot cast after several hours my heel hurts a lot 8/10 pain score. I couldn't lift my foot because of the severe pain i encountered at my heel. it hurts my heel a lot. But in all fairness, the affected tendons was well secured.
