I would try giving the puppy a bath with Dawn liquid soap and talk to you local vet about giving this to your new puppy

Use Frontline or Advantage. Advantix does not work as well.

Can anyone in florida give me your opinion on it’s effectiveness? i’m told that the fleas in fl are developing a resistance to some treatments.

I live in the Tampa Bay area in Florida and used this on my chihuahua for over 3 years and it has been very effective. I do not give him heart worm treatment since it repels and kills mosquitos as well and every time the vet has done his heart worm test, it has been negative. Therefore, I highly recommend this product, not only for fleas, which he has never had but for mosquitoes as well.
