BSI Solar II Single Ball Tote Bag

I've been using bowling bags as general tote bags for quite a number of years. (I don't bowl, but bags of this general size are very convenient for gym gear and other purposes.) The Ebonite bags I had been using for years finally wore out and I needed replacements. I've tried several newer Ebonite versions in the past few years and haven't been happy with any of them (cheaper quality zippers, in particular).The BSI Solar II has worked out very well. It comes closest to what I liked most about the original Ebonites I bought years ago, yet it has two features that are significant improvements over the old Ebonites: it has a detachable shoulder strap and the shoulder strap's pad is much more comfortable. The BSI zipper handle is smaller and feels flimsier than on the old Ebonites, but seems of higher quality than the newer Ebonites (purchased within the past few years).The two main disadvantages are that the bag's volume is smaller, due to a narrower width (although it's now easier to fit into a mid-size gym lower) and the hard-plastic cupped insert for holding the bowling ball seemed to be of a poorer quality than the ones that came with my most recently purchased Ebonites. However, since I never actually use the plastic insert, that hasn't been an issue for me personally.If I need to buy another bag of this sort, I will be looking at this brand first.The BSI's have been a few dollars less expensive on Amazon, as well - another plus.I just wish that they had a solid black rather than the two-toned ones.

I bought three of these bags in November 2015 (review is being written December 2016) for my family to go bowling. Two of the three bags have held up really well, mine included, but the third bag is coming apart at the bottom slightly. The third bag belongs to my 14-year old step daughter and she may abuse it a bit, but I'm disappointed to see the exterior fabric separating from the lower seam. That said, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one of the bags.In my bag I keep my 15 lb ball, my size 12 men's bowling shoes, a towel for wiping my ball, a couple of beer coozys and some ebonite ultrislide hand powder. The bottom has a foam cutout to keep the ball secure and inside are two stirrups (not quite pockets) to keep shoes held upright next to the ball. The front pocket is for keeping small things in (like the ebonite powder or maybe a league-list) because it's pretty flush but it's good to have. The strap is comfortable enough but we all removed our straps and just carry the bags by the handles. Excellent purchase for the money.

I am a new bowler and after deciding to get my own ball, I needed a bag to go with it. After a ridiculous amount of research online, I finally decided on this bag. I am delighted to say I made the right choice! The bag is compact, well made, and a great value. The bowling ball rests securely in the foam cup at the bottom and the bag has rubber feet on the bottom, so it doesn't easily tip over. There are pockets on the inside where you can store shoes or other items- although I don't have anything else right now, it's nice to have the option. The shoes would probably have to be one in each pocket, which I thought might not be ideal, but after looking at the bag I think it would be fine. It would keep things balanced- and it's kind of the trade off with having a compact bag, which was my priority. There is also a pocket on the outside, for a notepad, glove or whatever- another nice touch. Overall I'm delighted. Now, if I can just work on my game...

Nice case for the price, holds ball nicely in a smal cup in bottom of bag that I didn't expect to be there for this price. Big enough to handle the ball and the shoes, with the shoe holders on the side working remarkably well for what they are. Bag has survived untorn an entire league season, 5 months, and even zippered compartment on the outside has worked without issue. Very good bag for an average bowler who just wants to carry one ball, their shoes, a small towel, and a small bottle of ball wash (not included :-)

If you are looking at this product, it means that you probably want an affordable bowling bag.As a long time bowler, I needed a small, compact and simple bowling bag that I can use when I am traveling.I have looked at and tried many bags and then found this one, which was the cheapest of all the bags I have tried.The bag is compact: it fits one bowling ball and one pair of bowling shoes, and an outside pocket for small personal items.The quality is good for the price and the shoulder strap is more comfortable than I have expected.I would recommend this bag if you need a small compact, inexpensive bowling bag.

BSI Solar II, BlackI'm a beginner at bowling and just wanted an inexpensive bag for my bowling ball and shoes. This fits the bill. It has a padded liner for a bowling ball, and two internal pockets for shoes. I'm a germaphobe and will probably use plastic bags to hold the shoes inside the bag.The shoulder strap also has a fuzzy liner for more comfort.Overall: 5/5 stars, at this price point it is hard to beat especially with these features. I'm a minimalist, so it works for me. It holds 1 ball and a pair of shoes, and has an external zippered pocket if you want to hold a notepad, shoe brush, gloves, or other accessories.

Great bag. Only one flaw. The removable ball holder is way to cheap. It look like it's made from cut out layered foam that's glued to a cardboard base. Back in the day, this would be built into the bag itself( non-removable) or at least the ball holder would be of a rubber material that surrounded the important areas of the ball, in case the bag got crushed/ dented badly, your ball wouldn't be damaged. But if your just starting out(recreational bowler), this would do nicely for a good while.
