I feel disappointed
Half of the "feelings" in this book aren't feelings at all- just things opinions or desires.Examples for clarity:I feel frustrated because this book is not what I hoped for. (Feeling!)I feel happy because I can return it. (Feeling!)I feel like this book is useless. (Opinion)I feel like leaving my first Amazon product review so other parents don't waste their money. (Want/desire)I feel better now.

really disappointed
the description says this book is suitable for 2-4 years. I was looking for something to help my 2 year old learn to express her feelings. I was so disappointed with what it turned out to be. "I feel like standing on my head" "I feel like reading under the covers". this book is definitely NOT for 2 year olds. the only reason i'm NOT returning it is because my daughter likes the illustrations but it completely missed the point of the title in my opinion.

Not about emotions
I wanted a book about feelings, but this is really a book about really random things a child might want to do. Only a couple of real feeling is actually inlcuded - one is "cranky" and the other is "lonely" which is represented by a fish in a small fishbowl (not by a human face). The cover and title of this book are misleading. This book will definitely not help children learn to identify and label their emotions. I think it might confuse a child who is trying to learn to name their emotions. For example, "I feel like kissing a sea lion" is not an emotion (plus kissing a sea lion not a good idea because it's impossibly dangerous). The I Love You Book by the same author actually is about accepting and labeling emotions. The I Love You Book is really wonderful. We will stick with that instead of this confusing and unhelpful book. Better books about labeling emotions/feelings include My Face Book, Making Faces: A First Book of Emotions, and Feelings Sentimientos in addition to Todd Parr's I Love You Book.

cute but not what I was expecting
So I bought this book because it was recommended on a blog to help teach kids about their feelings. I am now convinced that the blogger didn't actually read this book. It says cute things like "sometimes I feel like standing on my head" or "sometimes I feel like eating ice cream" and it does have a few pages about feeling lonely, scared, etc... but it doesn't actually address what those feelings ARE. IDK if this review makes any sense but basically its a really cute book, but its not going to help your kids understand what feelings are and where they come from.

silly scenes.
The Feelings Book vibrantly illustrates the wide range of moods we all experience. Kids and adults will appreciate Todd Parr's quirky intelligence as he pays special attention to the ever-changing, sometimes nonsensical emotions that we all feel. Targeted to young children first beginning to read, this book will inspire kids to discuss their multitude of feelings in a kid-friendly, accessible format, told through Parr's trademark bold, bright colors and silly scenes.
