If she could live through the horrors of being called names only due to the color of her skin and belittled as a first grader and still show kindness to those who tried to oppress her, I felt my 7 year old niece should be able to handle reading it. It is presented very well and in terms children can understand without being scared. It is also a great chance to have a teaching opportunity. We must teach our young people history lest it repeat itself! There is also a very well made and kid friendly movie about the topic that is available on desertcart. Review: Great book for the young.

Ouvrage destiné aux enfants et qui convient à mes collégiens car écrit dans un anglais simple. De plus, les illustrations aident à la compréhension. Le contenu est suffisant pour résumer l'histoire de cette petite fille qui figure à présent sur les murs de la maison blanche dans le célèbre tableau de Norman Rockwell.
