I found these cases after looking around for some affordable ones to use for models. The key word is 'affordable'! I have no doubt that the more expensive cases are nice, but they are consistently out of my price range. I read reviews about the difficulty others have had putting these together, so I was leery about getting one. But I figured I'd take a chance. The case needs to be assembled, and they include a pair of gloves to use to not put fingerprints all over it. I read the instructions, built it in the steps that were given, and it turned out great! For sure, you DON'T want to put a lot of pressure on the panels when putting them in the slots. I can see how the tabs might break off. But knowing this, I took it easy and it worked out fine. I'll be getting more of these cases in the future. They're great for keeping dust off of models and collectibles. There not the most sturdy of cases, but as long as they're put in a safe place and not handled to extreme, that should not be a problem. There's a good variety of sizes, and I had to get one that's bigger than I wanted to fit the model in. But that was worth it for the great price!

These cases are all really good options for the price. They are not the most rigid (as others have mentioned). They are however, very easy to assemble and provide protection against dust and debris. The larger cases will be a bit more difficult to handle once assembled due to a reduced structural rigidity compared to the smaller cases. The interlocking tabs are small and flush providing minimal obsuration at the corners. There is some overlap on the corners to allow for the tab connections, but nothing overly distracting. My suggestions to the purchaser who wants to make improvements: rubber or felt pads for the bottom plate will make it easier to lift and/or move the case (the bottom will flex so distribute them appropriately); a clear UV cured resin can be applied to the side wall connections and the top or bottom panels to increase the rigidity of the case. Plan carefully on how you plan to access the case and what sides you seal.

I would not recommend this box. It is not easy to snap together and broke during the assembly process. It also does not stay together once it is put together. It keeps popping off the base. Not good quality at all.

Aunt passed away unexpectedly last month. Every since I was a little girl, I remember these beautiful porcelain dolls she had in a display case. My uncle, her widower, was nice enough to give me one after I mentioned the dolls about five times in the conversation. I thanked him and told him I appreciated. He told me not to thank him, thank my aunt. He told me my aunt was going to get on me if I didn't take care of her doll. I promised I would. So I purchased this case to keep my promise. The display is beautiful. I love looking at it everyday like it is a piece of art. However, the design is flimsy and even though I did sit on the floor and put it together, the pieces and slots were not aligning up and kept falling apart. The only thing that stabilize it was the invisible tape that comes with it. I put it together and taped at the corners and then used scotch tape when I ran out. Adding the tape holds it together. So over all, I am happy with my purchase but the design is flimsy yet it does the job.

I have to admit that I laughed when I opened this package and a pair of white gloves fell out. It just seemed like such an extra step to take. But then I thought about it and realized that, since I was putting a gift into the case, the gloves were that perfect bit of extra insurance to make sure I didn't leave a smudge anywhere, meaning the recipient was going to focus 100% on the treasure inside. I wound up tying the gloves into the ribbon on the gift and telling him he had to put them on before opening it! Assembly was easy, but it's worth mentioning that until the very last piece goes on, the whole unit feels loose and unstable. That last piece makes it all come together perfectly, with nary a wobble, but it's tough to get to that point wearing the gloves. So make sure you're on a stable surface and have the time to fiddle around until you get it right.

Need a 2 person to assemble this case in order to align all the tabs and by not breaking it, just be patient and it will pays off.

Looks good. The acrylic protector was very stuck on, so you have to peel it off carefully and patiently, as the acrylic bends because it is very long.
