Does this product really need a case??

I say YES it really does need a case. Any time you are storing valuable information (for me photography) on a hard drive the extra protection is always just as valuable. Especially if you are traveling. If you aren't traveling then maybe not so much, but dropping it can be destructive so I would always keep a technical device like this the extra layer of protection. It is a well designed case and I feel better knowing my hard drive isn't free floating...you just never know when or how something like this gets damaged. As they say, better safe than sorry.

This case is compatiable with Scan Disk, 259GB, 500GB, & 1T. I purchased the 1T scan Disk and this case fits it just fine.

How snug is this for the 2TB drive? Just bought another brand and it's too loose a fit.
