Pantone Coated & Uncoated GP1601N Formula Guide, Standard Set

All these negative reviews were so off-putting I was hesitant to even buy this guide for fear of it being counterfeit. I actually emailed Pantone customer service direct from their website and was told yes, these products are from Pantone - Amazon buys from them directly. With that out of the way, I'll address the quality issues brought up by other reviews. First of all, yes the pages are quite thin - thin enough to not be entirely opaque. I could see a noticeable difference when viewing pages on my black desk versus on a white sheet of paper. It is not a HUGE difference, but the human eye can definitely discern it. Other reviews are quite concerned with the thinness of this paper, but being practical here, this booklet is already a good 2 inches thick. I can only imagine how immense and unwieldy it would become if printed on thicker paper! It is a little time intensive to flip through, but this is mostly due to the sheer amount of pages it has, and the need to handle it carefully so as not to damage the thin paper, not because the pages are actually sticking together or anything. Other reviews also mentioned gradients, bubbles, and inconsistency in the ink. I looked very hard for gradients, and only one page of peachy colors had a bit of a darker rim, but it was so subtle I couldn't even photograph it. As for bubbles, I've included a photo showing a few pages with dots and smudges. These marks are so very small they do not detract from being able to use the color swatch. It seems to be pretty uncommon, as these were the only pages out of the whole 270 page booklet with noticeable blemishes. As for consistency, this is the first and only Pantone product I've yet purchased, so I have no others to compare it to. It seems a lot of reviewers are upset with the downgrade in quality from previous Pantone booklets, which I have no firsthand experience with. All I can say is that I bought this booklet to translate some of my digital designs into physical products, and it made working with the manufacturer a breeze. Even on an IPS (true color) monitor using the Pantone Photoshop CC app, you can still end up with huge color inaccuracies when compared to the physical Pantone booklet. Definitely an invaluable tool I'm super happy to finally own.

Very happy with both Coated and Uncoated books that were received. Had concerns based upon previous reviews but quality and consistency of color is top notch and any mottling that was talked to in other reviews could be a by-product of ink settling into the uncoated surface of the U color spectrum - expected to be seen at the production level also. Great quality and very usable books for sure.

This is the best deal for Pantone books. I design enamel pins so I only use the Solid Coated book but it gets the job done. The pages are a bit on the thin side but it works in my favor as it's easy to bend pages down to match and compare colors.

This Pantone set is perfect! It is precisely what I was looking for to get the exact color codes I needed for my business! I highly recommend the investment in the product to ensure you are using the right colors and codes when branding. GREAT Product!

If you need a new pantone book but are on a budget this is a good purchase. Colors are nice and vibrant and there is a wide selection of colors to choose from. Swatches are consistent for the most part, though I did see some slight light spotage on a few pages. These do not have different color builds like the bridge version. Pages are numbered for easy referencing but they are thin so be careful flipping through them.

Paper quality is average, otherwise it is what it is, the universal colour reference chart for print.

I love this. Wish there was a solid formula guide version only. I worry though about how to store it properly. I feel like only a conpatible hard shell would suffice because it's such a delicate tool and also beautiful that you don't want to hurry degrading it in time.

Vi algunos reviews que decían que era falso porque el papel era muy delgado. El papel SÍ es muuuy delgado (casi tipo una hoja de papel bond) pero sí es producto oficial porque viene con su código que pude registrar en la página de Pantone para tener el software. Sí se puede facturar. Está bastante bien porque el precio es por el paquete completo y en otras tiendas está mucho más caro. Las impresiones están ligeramente granuladas y no estoy segura por qué sea eso, pero todo se ve bien.

Tiene los colores que necesito que son los C. Lo que no me gustó es el orden que les han dado a las hojas, podría haber sido por número para que facilite la búsqueda
