JBL Horizon 2 Alarm Clock Radio with Bluetooth Speaker, DAB and FM Radio and 2 USB Ports for Charging Devices, Grey

Wanted one for a long time, so finally took the plunge and not disappointed! You can wake up to a gentle light, then radio or an alarm, you can charge two devices from the USB sockets, the sound is incredible, what more can I say! Excellent!

The quality is superb, and the specification is spot on. The large button on the top to silence the alarm is most welcome. Perhaps the smaller control buttons are a little too-well disguised, but aesthetically they work well with the overall design concept.

This is a terrific little radio that I have sadly had to return. I have had two of these and had to return both with the same fault. The display should adjust to the ambient light levels automatically. In both radios when the lights were off the display dimmed then returned to full brightness and then dimmed and so on. It was like trying to sleep next to a lighthouse. I purchased the first radio from JBL direct. I wrote and phoned them and they talked me through factory resets with no solution. Even putting the radio inside a black jersey in a darkened room did not prevent the flashing so I returned it. We loved the sound quality so hoping the fault was a one off we purchased another one but it had the same problem. I can only assume JBL had a bad batch, poor quality control or there is a design fault which is a shame as except for the flashing display it is a terrific little radio alarm clock.

A major step backwards in functionality from my previous JBL alarm. Not good, consigned to the trash can.

My criteria for finding an alarm clock was quite high. I wanted a clock radio two separate alarms, a large display that was very dim, or could easily be dimmed at night, and decent quality sound (all features on my old alarm clock which has been faultless for around 10 years now, but the buttons are starting to not work) The GOOD: Great design, easy to read clock with auto dimming (more on this in the not so good), Really good quality sound, as you would expect from JBL. It was a piece of cake to set up and program the alarms. The build quality is great, and a nice extra bonus it has a night light built in. The NOT SO GOOD: even though the display auto dims, it could really do with going one level dimmer for me. Also the rotary knob used for changing settings is too easy to rotate when pushing to select, meaning you save the wrong setting and have to go through the process again. Both of these I quickly got used to but are things I would have liked to be improved. The BAD: Unfortunately the horizon 2 has a fatal design flaw that completely ruins the above, and in my opinion makes it not fit for purpose. The alarm only sounds for 3 minutes then turns itself off. I like to wake up with the radio and 3 minutes is just not long enough for me to comfortably come out of my slumber...... Every other alarm clock I have ever had the alarm stays on until you turn it off (or an hour for most clock radios). Now this is an easy fix with a firmware update (which I have done and it was also a very easy process) so it very disappointing that JBL responded to this question by saying it is not possible and is not going to happen. So this was attempt three, and came really close, but unfortunately I will be returning this and the search goes on....

Looks good, usual JBL sound quality, easy enough to set up. Wish that Bluetooth would automatically re-connect to my phone when in range rather than having to keep pressing the Bluetooth button. First World problems!

Recently purchased this item. Very pleased in general however there is NO earphone jack/socket and a USB connector does not resolve this. I like to listen to the radio at night, in bed, and very disappointed that i cannot do this unless somebody can enlighten me!? Sound quality is excellent, very dynamic, night light a good feature and the alarm easy to set. The display has an auto dimming feature so you do need to face this towards natural light for the display to alter, easy enough to achieve. Nice but the earphone jack thing is a downer!

Ich habe schon so einige Radiowecker gehabt. Dieser ist super! Sieht toll aus, der Klang ist toll und er lässt sich sehr einfach bedienen - und das ohne die Anleitung lesen zu müssen. Das Licht passt sich der Helligkeit automatisch an und ist nachts recht abgedunkelt. Dies könnte vielleicht noch ein wenig dunkler sein. Obwohl ich da recht empfindlich bin, geht es aber bei diesem Wecker.

Buen sonido, diseño. Se ve muy bien y no deslumbra por la noche. Lo uso también como altavoz Bluetooth.

Provengo dalla horizon 1, e mi trovavo benissimo, e ha lavorato per ben 10 Anni, al che si è abbuiato il displey, ho preso la horizon 2 e la trovo Bellissima mi piace da impazzire costruzione solida e robusta con materiali di tutto rispetto, la cassa bleuteut suona da paura, bassi belli profondi e i medioalti limpidi e squillanti risultato suono fantastico al pari di molte casse più costose, molto comoda la seconda sveglia e lo snozze ogni 9 minuti, unico difetto le memorie della radio, 3 sono proprio poche, comoda anche la luce notturna, Servizio Amazon impeccabile come sempre

Radio réveil vraiment parfait ! Se règle facilement et est très doux pour nos réveils difficiles 😅
