Great hand axe!
Awesome axe! First hand axe I have honestly owned and it came with a way to remove nails, pretty cool! Not super duper sharp when you first get it but it has some weight to it so it chops just great. I used this to remove some large left over stumps that were growing near some concrete. Could not get a chain saw near the concrete so I used this to chop most of it down and then dig down and remove them. They were small and up against concrete so they could not be pulled out with a chain either.

A solid metal handle to the butt. A good not great hatchet
Not that sharp, but solid metal handle to the butt of the handle. I drilled the end for a rope loop. its a good utility hatchet. not the best for splitting wood, but durable.

All things considered, it's a good buy at $10
You'd think it would be hard to complain about an axe that costs less than a fast food meal but welcome to my world. My immediate thought when I grabbed this axe was "Holy $%^&, this thing is heavy". Fatigue is a legitimate concern here. NOT a contender for a pack axe or primary home kindling splitter. Next, I noticed the poor angled of the edge, wide, fat and dull. I then stared at it perplexed for longer than I can remember, wondering why they put this odd curve to the handle and grip. It really add no advantage to the swing or splitting power. STILL - for $10 this is a fine backup/throw away, give away axe. I can see myself spending about 5 minutes with a flapper disc correcting the sins of Coleman and making this a decently sharp and effective splitter. It's heafy and built in such a way that brings some 80s nostalgia. I really think it'll last a long time and be purposeful with some tweaking. Again, for the money, I can endorse this so long as you understand its caveats.

Our Hurricane Axe IYKYK
Living along the coast of a hurricane prone state can provide you with some of the most amazing views, incredible seafood, meanest mosquitoes, and scariest hurricanes. If you ever research Hurricane Katrina and the areas that flooded, some of the people who were in their homes when it flooded moved to their attics and got trapped in the flood waters. The people who had an axe chopped their way through the roof to create a hole to get on top of their roof to wait to be rescued. That is why we keep an axe by our attic door. This axe is the perfect size for anyone to use. I have very small hands for an adult and I was able to grip the handle without any difficulty. The axe is also weighted correctly for easy use. If you ever used an axe or any other tool that is too heavy at the top, you will understand what I mean by weighted correctly. The blade of this axe is definitely sharp enough to do the job efficiently and effectively. Hopefully, we never really have to use this axe for anything other than chopping firewood for our firepit, but we are thankful to have a tool ready just in case we ever get more water than we expect in our neighborhood.

Price Matters Most
This was less than 10 bucks when I ordered it. It arrived dull (as in, the blade didn't even bite into a pine tree). The "sheath" it comes with is nothing......plastic and a strip of paper. So if you want something to cover the head, you'll need to purchase something extra. I was largely content until I hopped on and saw the price was about triple of what I paid. I wasn't expecting much, but if I had paid the current $20 price ...I'd AT LEAST expect something to cover the blade. It couldn't cost much to just do a piece of plastic or rubber that simply sat over the bladed edge. For the current price, "NO! Find something else." Sub-$10, "Sure." There is just so much extra you have to put into this to make it functional for just about anything at all it isn't worth almost 3 times the price.

8 bucks we'll spent
For 8 bucks, are you kidding me? It's good. Really good. Sturdy, heavy and solid. Sharp for what you paid. Blade can easily be sharpened if not sharp enough. Definitely worth 8 bucks for sure!

just what i needed
Bought this to add to my machine when out on the trains and need some help. Have not used yet and was a very reasonable price. I am sure the day will come where i have to use this. I just think for the future. It seems well built but i think i will need to sharpen the ax blade some. other then that. perfect.

I got this for my son for a camping trip we had planned. Even though it shipped from overseas it still came pretty quickly-only around a week. It is a fairly small and light little axe, so you won’t be splitting blocks with it, but it is good for splitting kindling or chopping through shrubs and smaller saplings. It comes reasonably sharp as well. And of course, it’s a Coleman… Five very nervous saplings out of five
