I bought this because I just got Dobson Fiber Internet and there is only 1 Ethernet port on the back. I have a security system and a gamer that is needing Ethernet. You can buy a splitter/extender through Dobson but they charge $10 a month extra. This attachment works perfectly.I bought one a few weeks before this and come to find out that some splitters will not let you use both ports at the same time. But this one works perfect.

I will confirm the reviews and questions about a performance drop. This is true. You're looking at a 10-20% speed drop. I have mine for my Nintendo Switch and the speed is still good for that. If it's something that is unacceptable for you, don't buy it.Few months edit*** After some realizations, it's not so much a speed drop as it is a bottleneck. I'll assume it's just to the design of the chip inside and what it can handle, but it bottlenecks the speed to ~50 Mbps when my service speed is 200 Mbps when I'm not using the splitter.

This splitter is convenient and exactly what I need, as you can connect the main Internet hub to it and split it into a game controller and laptop for use. Having them as separate things makes it beautiful and easy to use. Very light and easy to store!

The product works perfectly, which allows two devices to be connected to one Ethernet port. The product is designed to allow only one device to be turned on and connected at a time. When I tested it multiple times, my connection speed showed no signs of slowing down. I highly recommend purchasing this product.

After a relatively short period of time, the product stop functioning. Initial speeds were almost as much as advertised, about 120-170mbps to each device. The splitter eventually degraded, cutting speeds for both end devices. It's now supplying less than 20mbps to each device through an 800mbps cable (on a 1.2gbps pipe) into the splitter. Additionally, as an avid gamer and content creator, latency with the splitter has skyrocketed to around 500ms (about half a second) which severely hinders your response time in the device. Your uploads from a streaming pc will hurt, and your up/down for your gaming device will hurt. Not recommend, buy a better splitter.

I moved my office from the first floor on the NE corner of my house (where my router sits) to the second floor of the SW corner of my house. The wifi was getting unpredictable for me so I purchased this splitter. Download speed on my home PC (which was already connected via ethernet dropped dramatically from 500mbps to 90mbps. The additional laptop connection, my reason for buying the splitter went from 0-15mbps to an average of 45mbps. I would have been better off to spend a little more money and simply buy a wifi extender for my house. On a tight budget, it functions but I can't really recommend this solution.

This is the second splitter I've purchased, and setting up this one couldn't be easier. I plugged it in and it worked immediately! Others I've tried require tricky setup and software etc, this is so simple, you won't regret buying it.
