LOVED IT- Easy to read, informative, entertaining and helpful!
I can't believe there are so many bad reviews for this book. My husband and I both really enjoyed it. It is written in a casual, approachable style, but that's what I LOVED about this book. The book was easy to read (and therefore, we poured through it quickly), entertaining and helpful. It felt like a friend was delivering information, advice and encouragement- in a heartfelt, relaxed "Bro" sort of way. We also read TONS of other books, but reading those books was a chore (and I was often bogged down in obscure medical minutia that, statistically, I would never need to know, let alone worry about). We actually LIKED reading this one.I will preface this review by saying- I have a master's degree and my husband is a software engineer & computer programmer with a B.S. in Computer Science -- in reference to the other reviews for this book, we are not, by any means, "frat guys."This book tells you what you need to know and skips all the in-depth details on rare and obscure issues that probably won't affect you (stuff you could (and would, regardless of book contents) google if you needed to know), and zips right in to conveying what everyone will need to know. This book tackles topics and life changes that most of us secretly fear, and does so in an honest and down-to-earth, relatable way. This book also provides strategies for how to navigate the bumpy and fearfully paved road to parenthood. It's a great way to dive into the idea of becoming a parent (especially a father) and tackle the intimidation that accompanies the changing role to parent. Becoming a parent is stressful enough, why force yourself or your partner to stew over pregnancy books tantamount to the Illiad. Do yourself a favor and include this one in the line up. Trust me- it will help!

Go to gift for new dads. Purchased over 10 times
I bought this for my husband back in 2015 when we found out we were pregnant with our first child. He did not like to read at the time so I read it first to make sure that he would be able to make it through. The book was written by a man for men. It is hilarious, riddled with sports and nerd jokes, and the best part is real life practical things they can do throughout the pregnancy and what to expect. It literally spells out how to help the pregnant partner in the most mansplaining way possible. I buy this immediately any time some one tells us they are pregnant. There are so many books for pregnant women, but hardly any for men. This is an easy, fun, read and easy to apply.

Great gift for expecting fathers. Funny!
My wife got this for me when we were expecting our first born. Now I gift it to any of my buddies that are expecting. Very funny and keeps you engaged. After reading you will walk into the labor and delivery room like a pro!

Good book for first time dads
I got this for my stepson who's expecting his first child this summer. He chuckled at the title, but it's got good basic information.

Humorous take on the Dad- to- be’s role in the pregnancy and the nesting phase.
There are tons of books and guides for the mother to be but this one addresses the dad to be and interjects a sense of humor to all phases of the process. It made me “chuckle”

Great father to be gift!
Got this for my husband, a first time dad, to get him included in the pregnancy. He read the first trimester right away and laughed through the book. I read some with him and it is really funny! It's for that first time father who has no clue what to expect and lays it all out on the line. It doesn't scare him, but definitely gets him ready for what to expect from you for the next 9 months (ie mood swings and lack of sex drive). It's more geared towards guys too, because making him read "what to expect while you're expecting" is just cruel ladies.P.S. There is a section in the book that talks about how tired we will be in the first trimester and that your man should help around the house more...well let me tell you, after my husband read that chapter, I found him DOING THE DISHES AND SWEEPING THE FLOOR!!! :) So maybe this book is a God-send!

THE book to get your husband (and yourself)!
When my husband and I found out we were expecting our first child, I went and ordered a ton of baby books! This one stood out amongst the piles of books. My husband frequently referenced it and educated himself more deeply about what was going on with my changing body. There were many times he was able to comfort me about a small worry (ligament stretching pains for example) by mentioning something from the book.It was nice that it was both informative and light hearted. You need that as first time parents! For mom's to be I would recommend Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy. It's was honest about all the things that people just don't talk about with pregnancy! Also, I recommend looking up the 5 S baby soothing technique. We took a bunch of parenting prep classes and that was really all we ended up using and remembering in the whirlwind of a new baby! ;)
