GALLUNOPTIMAL UR90 audio cassettes 90 min. Empty cassettes, pack of 5

Super tapes - so pleased someone is still making them. Two extra included in my last order of 40. I certainly will be ordering more. Arrived to be signed for which is really the only way with Royal Mail these days - saves all the angst if something doesn't arrive and both parties blaming each other for it going missing. I can't be the only person in the country still using tapes because the "Boomboxes" always sell on ebay. It is so nice to have all the best of your cd's to play all around the house without having to buy new equipment. These tapes are at a fantastic price and the sound quality is brilliant.

This may be a basic item to purchase but if you need quality materials for recording permanent work, Maxell UR 90 minute audio cassettes are just the ticket. In this modern day, it was pleasing to find this item was still available - and at a keen price. It is also apparent that the quality of this particular product has not been degraded over the years, the standards have been maintained. This reviewer has been using Maxell cassettes for over 20 years and they are still playing well and fairly frequently at that. Other makes may be good but in this reviewers humble opinion, you will not go wrong with Maxell.

The tapes came almost two weeks early! Exactly as advertised, great service. I took away a star only because the tapes were really not that great. I tested them on my Yamaha KX580 by recording many 80's classics ranging from classic rock to synth pop and I have found the higher frequencies to lag significantly. Other than that, great seller and a product well worth it's price. Buy and enjoy!

An update to this review - i have experimented with these cassettes, and found that they cannot be recorded above 0db (-1db recommended) at all, otherwise the wavering of sound (distortion) is very pronounced and the bias recording setting has to be very negative (on my deck about -3.5). With Dolby B NR.. when this is done the output is much better. I have added another star to my review, as they are at least usable now,, the output is ok. Used to record a new LP, from rega planar 3 turntable, through an Arcam A70 amp, to a Nakamichi DR-3 Tapedeck...+3db and Dolby B NR. I wasn't expecting miracles, just standard normal bias performance.. They do not deliver this, the sound recorded is very dull, and almost flat, with practically no detail..But worst of all, as was commented elsewhere in a review, there is a wavering of the sound output up and down in volume. DON'T buy these, pay more for the maxell UR if you can get them. The best you can get out of these is spoken word maybe.. Awful yokes

I am so glad these are still available at a very good price. Good quality tapes, very useful in recording telephone conversation (that is what I use them for mostly in addition to music, which is quite rarely). None of the cases were cracked or damaged, which suggests the packaging was adequate. The tapes arrive well within the estimated time

Finding blank cassettes these days is proving quite difficult and I realise that this is not current technology, but the quality of these tapes has proved to be excellent and the price for 20 very reasonable. They represent for me the possibility of 30 hours of pleasurable listening, so I'm grateful.

I've been finding it very difficult to get hold of cassette tapes, so when i saw that these were available for £15 (At the time of buying) i snatched them up! Good quality tape, have recorded 10 so far with no noticeable problems on the tapes! Tempted to buy more just in case they stop selling them!

Every one of the 10 cassettes I bought has proved to be faulty. Most have simply refused to record/play to the end and then reverse, either going to and fro then unwinding or 1 or 2 have actually split when they were stuck in the cassette player. It may seem trivial in the grand scheme of things, but for years I have relied on recording plays or other programmes from the radio and listening to them on the Walkman when I lie down to rest. I have now missed the ends of many plays or the final instalments of serials. This is very irritating and means a) that I have completely wasted my money buying 2 packs of useless tapes and b) I now have no 90-minute tapes. I have plenty of TDK 60-minute tapes which work perfectly well, but this does not help when I want to record for longer.
