Navigation Aids, Rules of the Road and Maneuvering Signals for U.S. Inland Waterways Review: Weems & Plath Marine Nav & Rules of the Road slide rules - I recommend these two sturdy tools for all serious boaters and licensed captains. It was evident that careful thought was given to both the information presented and the artistic design of these invaluable tools for the mariner. They are built of hearty serviceable plastic material with a non reflective black background and bright navigation and boat symbols. Water proof? yes. Information clearity, first-class. Information content, complete on both of the slide-tools. My recommendation; don't go to sea or river without these two wheelhouse tools in reach of the officer-of-the-watch. Kermit R. Mercer, master. Review: Great for Boaters of all kind - I found this by accident when browsing for some plotting tools. In the midst of getting my Masters Captains License I grabbed this to keep on board. Its handy and novice boaters like to look at as well. Its also not a bad tool to use to prepare for the exam.

Handy easy reference
I got this as a handy reminder for navigation rules, but also easy reference for family who may be piloting our boat.

Rules of the Road
Doesn't cover every possible light configuration and is a little confusing but it is very helpful and helped me pass my AB exam.

Great teaching tool.
Crazy simple to use. This makes it so easy to teach others the right of way rules.

Silly indulgence
This is somewhat interesting for studying nautical lights and right-of-way rules, but once you know them (and hopefully neither are a terribly difficult subject to tackle) this quickly becomes a relatively useless lump of plastic. You can get the same information online, in books, from a good sailor or instructor. I guess it's great that it's waterproof, but if you have to break this out while you're aboard a boat, you've got bigger problems than which lights should be on or who allegedly has the right of way.

A great tool to remind which markers go where and mean ...
A great tool to remind which markers go where and mean what. Tough to remember when only seeing some of these markers infrequently.

Good, but won't ship to APO/FPO
I'm sure it's a good product, but as a member of the US Coast Guard stationed on Guam I won't have the opportunity to try it since the shipper won't send to the US Territory of Guam or a military APO/FPO address. Way to support the troops, people...
