Well Worth the Read
If you wish to learn about autism from a person who is autistic, for any role or purpose I highly recommend this book. I have an autistic teen and it really helps to explain a lot for a parent / caregiver. This is so much better than reading from “experts” in the field who are not on the spectrum and therefore how much can they really understand? It also opens up dialogue to have with your child about this topic. The references and the footnotes and the history were all very well done. He references other autistic individuals in history. This was a well written and engaging book. It was easy to digest with lots of fact and heart. If you are a parent and want some help understanding your child, you will benefit from this book.

V. Good
I wanted books to increase my understanding to autism so I know to deal better with my son. The book was a window opened by an autistic person allowing us to see his own world. The only issue is there is no much about advices for dealing with a younger age.Easy language and good print.

VERY GOOD book for the family.
I found this book to be sooo helpful. I have a clearer understanding about what my family member is going through. Why he does some things and why he doesn't do other things. This book gives me hope that we can have a deeper relationship together. Thank you so much for that!

Helpful guide by autistic author
Such a good guide written from the perspective of an autistic person. I learned that a lot of misunderstandings between neurotypical and neurodivergent people come from assumptions and conventions that favor neurotypical behavior. With a little more empathy and acceptance of our differences, we can help our society become healthier for everyone. What we accept as "normal" is mostly made of conventions that favor neurotypical people, which isn't an inclusive type of culture.

Okay
There is many good points in this book. The information can be dense and overwhelming at times. There is mentions of Autistic social issues etc and the authors opinions on them some I agree with some, others not, but I guess this proves everyone on the spectrum has different beliefs on what helps and what not.Anyways politics aside, this book describes things not to say to someone on the spectrum, teach you about stims, ableism, etc. I would recommend this book if you want terminology and want a perspective from an autistic writer not just someone who writes from the outside. This book has some information dense points for me but I enjoyed the read, I understand people have different opinions and that’s okay, do I agree? No. But being listening to someone else side is always insightful, I’m not against changing my mind if the arguments just.Overall I think this book is more good then bad. 3/5 I recommend giving this to someone who is new to the spectrum and learning about themselves, or giving this book to someone you love to teach them about your experience on the spectrum and highlight the parts that resonate with you. This book is good because it’s the voice of someone with autism, it’s not like those mom books. If that isn’t a seller then the information u get will be for sure very detailed, you’ll definitely learn a lot.

Zu oberflächlich- too superficial- SKIP!
Disappointed! Unusually big letter size and too superficial. If you watch 3 youtube-videos about autism, you know all that is covered in this book. Read it in less than 2 hours. Do not recommend. Do read: Unmasking Autism by Devon Price.
