The most Amazing game!
Beautiful cards. Simple and quick game yet very high strategy game! Will you dave the low scoring blue cards which score 3 times or the high scoring pink cards which score only once? What balance will you decide between the colors? I'm playing this every time on game days!!

Wonderful game! But box is kinda iffy
One of my favorite games at the moment. Rules are very strait forward. As long as you can count, you can play this game. Art is very nice without being too wild, and even the feel of the cards is nice. Hardest part about this game is probably just shuffling the 120 cards. But that’s pretty easy to work around if you split up the deck between players and just shuffle and pass around. Only bad thing about this product is the box itself. It feels just a bit too small for the cards, scorebook, and instructions. The top 8 cards or so sit above the divider and slide around within the box, and the other materials push the lid up higher than expected. It is definitely not a secure fit. If you drop the box, you better be ready to pick up cards. But it’s definitely not a reason not to get this game. Just something that might want to be addressed in future re-printings.

Great light travel game
I am always looking for small box games that I can toss in my bag to take with me when we travel. This one is great. Very easy to learn, quick play, but still strategic enough to be fun and interesting.

Great game for traveling!
My wife and I enjoy this game. Simple, fast, and perfect for killing 10-15 minutes. I am appreciating longer games (1hr or more), but it is nice to warm up on a game such as this.

Beautiful, fun, quick family card game
All in all, this is a quick, fun, family game. Summary: Ohanami is a card game for 2-4 players, ages 8+, and a game plays in between 20-30 minutes. The cards are beautifully done, oriental watercolors with the numbers 1-120. Each number occurs only once. The cards are further divided into the subject matter of the cards: water, grass, stone, or cherry blossom. The game is divided into three rounds. Each round starts with the players each being dealt ten cards. Each player keeps two cards and passes the remaining cards to player on his left (it goes left, right, left for the three rounds). Based on the two cards the player kept, he can lay down, one, two, or none of the cards. Any cards not laid down are discarded face down. From the cards passed to him, he chooses two cards, and passes the rest in the direction for the round, and so on until the players have had the chance to play all ten cards - often they will choose to not play, or will not be able to play. The rules for placing cards are as follows. You can have a maximum of three stacks. The first card in a stack can have any value. After that you can only put a card above if it is higher than any other card on top. For the bottom, the card must be lower than any other card on the bottom. After the players have had a chance to play all ten cards, the new round starts with each player being dealt ten new cards. At the end of each round there is scoring. For the first round, players get three points for each of their water cards. For round two, they get three points for their water cards and four points for their grass cards. In the third round, they get seven points for their stone cards, four points for their grass cards, and three points for their water cards. Additionally, there is an increasing number of points depending on how many cherry blossoms you have. (The scoring scale is on the bottom of the scoring sheet.) On to the Dr Games’ Criteria … GO/NO GO Criterion • Complexity: (GO) It is not complex, but there is more strategy than might be obvious. Water cards end up being worth nine points each by the end of the game while stone is only worth seven points. So, choosing which cards to discard to avoid blocking other cards is a key part of the game. • Balanced: (GO ) It is completely balanced. • Chance (GO) It is a good mixture of chance and skill. Have no doubts there is skill involved. • Clarity: (GO) I give it a go, but the rules are actually a bit unclear. After reading through them several times, I realized that each round must continue with the "take two and pass the rest of the cards" mechanic, but the rules were not clear on that. • Reasonable Time: (GO) 20-30 minutes is a good length for the game to last. Bonus Criteria • Social: There is nothing inherently social or non-social about the game. • Unique/Interesting Mechanics: The passing cards is interesting because it gives you a chance to see what else is in the deck or has not been played. • Informed: Not in this game. • Rewards Throughout

Elegant, fun, deceptively deep game
This game basically teaches itself in 30 seconds and I can't imagine anyone over the age of 8 not loving it immediately. There's really not much to it on the surface, but to win, you must strategically play from the first card selection. But if you don't care about winning, you'll still have a blast puzzling out each move. Not as much loud fun as No Thanks! but a gentle, social card playing experience.

Very fun game
I really enjoy playing Ohanami. The rules are fairly straightforward and simple. Game play takes 20-30 minutes depending on how thoughtful the players are. It's an engaging game and can be played repeatedly - in my opinion. Lots of fun! Highly recommend!!

Highly recommended for BOTH children and seniors!
So easy to learn and fun to play for all ages. My 6yo kid can play against my 80yo parent! More strategic as 2 player game as you can knowingly plan attack and defend. Otherwise excellent family game that we play over and over again in one night. Simple concept of card drafting using ascension order of numbers is great for young children and the scoring is what as the complexity for adults.
