Performance Ice Scratchers with Replaceable Carbide Tip - Long

A little expensive and getting more so, they work well and most handy people can install them. Instructions are minimal about where to place them but once installed, they work as advertised.

I have been using this brand for several years and they work great.

40 miles on it and carbide broke off and threaded end is stuck inside. I have requested the seller replace the complete end piece with carbide...if they do I will update review but if they dont stand behind their products I wont buy from them again and would advise others to buy a superior product.

Just installed and waiting for the snow to fly. Superb quality and replaceable carbide tips. Easy install and even comes with loctight.

Installation was simple. However the carbide tip lasted one ride. I am not a trail rider. I ride on Lake Temagami. The conditions here warranted the Installation finally and I went for 1 ride. I returned home and the carbide tip had sheared off. The treaded bolt portion was still in it.I wrote Straightline Performance. They said the following: Scratcher tips are designed with a shear force so when they come in contact with a Tree root, bridge deck or a trailer Ramp door they ensure the driver maintains control of the vehicle and the machine is unharmed. Without this shear force in our initial testing we have actually seen the scratcher Bend/break the rail and cause the driver to lose control of the machine. Unfortunately broken tips are not covered under warranty...... They sent me the warranty.The warranty information is not mentioned anywhere on the package. In fact it says the scratchers are designed to be run down at all times, but stored on the rail when not in use. It doesn't even refer to a warranty on the package.I assume the carbide tip was faulty but customer service wouldn't budge.If these can't stand up to scratching during a lake ride they are useless.Buyer beware, read the warranty.

Works as it should, be sure to use lock-tite and check bolts every now and then incase they come loose. Best part is they dont break like the spring style ones and you can replace the carbide if needed.

Installed and left side kept coming loose. Installed according to specs provided. Only have right hand currently installed. The left side ice scratcher head was miss threaded causing 3/8 bolt even with lock washer installed.
