The best bread knife I have ever owned and will ever need to own.

Wrong size but OK
Used for slicing sourdough and it is fantastic. My only problem is that I ordered the 23cms blade but the knife I received has a 20 cms blade, clearly stated on the box but I can't go through the hassle of returning it! There is a slight difference in the price as well. Perhaps a small price adjustment on my next order would compensate?

Very sharp bread knife but the handle needs a little more grip
Wusthof are generally excellent at producing a well balanced knife. This is a rare example where I tend to agree with other comments that the handle of this bread knife would benefit from being a size larger i.e. like the 8” chef knife. The bread knife is very sharp. Cuts into firm bread with ease. But a bread knife needs to cut straight and for this you need a good grip on the handle. The ergonomic Ikon Classic handle is smooth and the POM cheeks are not as grippy as the African Blackwood of the more expensive Ikon series. Hence, a slightly larger handle is likely to improve control on long slices in firm bread. Hence four stars.

This is actually the 20cm version
I received the 20cm version not the 23cm one, really haven't got time to return it so using this instead. it's a good knife.

Eccelente! Taglia il pane anche secco come il burro! costa, ma ne vale la pena. Ho preso altri 2 modelli da 14 e 17 cm della Classic Ikon Santoku. Tutti eccelenti nella lama da oltre 1 anno!

My favorite bread knife. As a red seal chef, I'm a HUGE fan. It's sharp, holds edge well, easy to use, good grip on handle and cuts like butter.

El mejor panero que he tenido,lo uso para cortar tambien frutas,carnes y hasta congelados.Corta muchisimo y aun despues de tanto tiempo sigue muy afilado.
