I was on the lookout for an XLR interface for my Samson Q2U mic. After reading many reviews I decided that the Zoom Podtrack P4 was exactly what I needed. I can use it as an XLR USB interface to use my XLR mic on my PC but also record directly to the device while I'm away from home. The device is very easy to use, the controls are relatively intuitive and the sound quality is good. I can have dedicated channels for my mic and guests while the built-in effects like filters and limiter allow me to spend less time editing the sound in post. I'll be taking it to a show later this year to record a podcast on-the-move so hopefully it will continue to give me good results.

This is a great litte recorder. Doesn't do anything fancy, just grabs the clean audio to an SD card, which you can then transfer to your DAW later to edit/EQ/FX. It's meant for recording podcasts... But, I use it to record band rehearsals. Works fine. Condenser mic over the drums (using the on-board phantom power). Mic in front of the guitar amp. DI from the bass amp. Mono line from the PA for vocals. Gives us a great recording of 4 individual wav files, that after a little bit of treatment in the DAW laptop software, can be used as demos for reference or overdubs for live YouTube videos of us playing in the studio. It only gets 4 stars, because within a week, it stopped working on battery power. No idea why. Still works fine on 5v USB power though, using a standard USB-C phone charger to run it (not included).

Really good quality sound and very functional. I’m impressed after using an H6 for a while. Much better solution. It’s a bit plasticky and mic could do with 1/4 inch jack slot but I’m being picky. Definitely recommend for basic pod production

To me it sounds noisey, this is my second one. The facilities are great, phone in, broadcast simultainiously ...but the mic channels are noisey, they need more gain as the s/n ratio is not right. Maybe its me? ...let me know...

Ottima soluzione per registrare 4 canali audio contemporaneamente. Ingressi microfonici XLR con possibilità di alimentazione phantom switchabile individualmente, livelli di ingresso regolabili al volo tramite 4 potenziometri dedicati, e pulsanti di mute. Suono sorprendentemente pulito, preamplificatori di buona qualità. 4 uscite separate per altrettante cuffie, con volume regolabile singolarmente. Per chi fa podcast possono far comodo i 4 pad a cui assegnare effetti sonori come jingle, applausi e quant'altro di preregistrato. L'apparecchio scrive su scheda SD sia la somma dei 4 ingressi (+ eventuali effetti dei pad) che i 4 canali separati. L'alimentazione è affidata a 2 pile, ma la durata è limitata; meglio affidarsi a un qualsiasi power bank, collegabile tramite usb-C. Molto semplice da configurare e utilizzare, minuto e leggero. Prezzo abbordabile rispetto alla qualità e alle caratteristiche offerte. Unica pecca: registra solo a 44KHz/16 bit, nessuna possibilità di andare con 48/24 o frequenze superiori.

This device allows you to input 4 channels that are recorded separately onto an SD card. It works like a dream for me. I use it in a live situation where I split the signals from my guitar, my drum machine, my vocal and the bass guitar. I split each instrument before effects thus giving me 4 distinct clean channels which I am able to manipulate in my digital editing software on my iPad. The final mixture gives me a radio quality performance. This device is small enough to fit on my music stand tray along with my drum machine. So now I can go live without recording or live with recording. Absolutely brilliant, highly recommend if you’re a nerd like me.

Den uppfyller allt i er beskrivning vad gäller funktioner och bra för podcast. Men batterierna har max hållit i 16 minuter med bara två mickar uppkopplade. Har försökt med nya batterier ett tiotal gånger. Därför skickade jag efter nätaggregatet till den. Därmed fungerar allt utmärkt. Men det tog sin tid att hitta det nätaggregatet - och det borde faktiskt ligga med mixern. Alternativt att ni har ett erbjudande med kombinationen Zoom P4 plus nätaggregat.
